Draws 36 Amps at full throttle and I easily get 6 mins flight time of general flying 30C 2200mA LiPo. Strong head speed even with 11 tooth pinion. Plenty. Even for 3D.

PLEASE NOTE I would not recommend this TRUST ESC. I am waiting for another one to come in. Upon start up its very, very notchy. Once the blades are spinning it really good but to get the motor spinning from 0 RPM is the problem. I tried reprogramming the timing, frequency and soft start with no difference. When I replaced it with a lower current 25 Amp e-flight ESC (from my blade 400) the start up was nice and smooth.

As I read the overview for the HK-450 V2 it states that the parts are 90% compatible with the Align 450. Anybody know what parts fall in the 10% category?

Good Day to all, I am new to the group. I started flying RC Helis in about 1976 on a Dubro 505 Whirlybird. I have been mostly out of RC for 15 years. I was still playing with an Xcell 60 custom and a Kalt Baron 30. I had not really looked current state of RC in years. All I can say is Wow the improvements are impressive.
I have read thousands of posts on the HK 450. I think it is currently the best deal in RC helicopters.

My 450 setup is.

HK450 CCPM 3D Helicopter Kit (Align T-Rex

3 Tower pro SG90 9g Micro Servos for cyclic

EXI Digital D113F 9G Micro Servo for the Tail

Detrum GY48V headklock gyro

3700 KV Brushless Motor & XP-40A-SW-F ESC at this URL http://tiny.cc/079ki

1 Sky Lipo 2200mAh 11.1V 30C

1 ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C

JR10Z TX with the FrSky FJ-1 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for JR w/ Module and the
FrSky V8FR 2.4Ghz 8CH Receiver (HV)

I flew both batteries in my Exceed G2 They both work great so far.
How are the carbon core plastic blades. I am planing to order some true carbon blades.
Tell me what you all think of my setup. I am near test flying. Could be ready tonight if i installed the Gyro ESC and Motor. It is otherwise complete

Thanks
Keith

Set up sounds good to me. The main thing is you are getting a heli up in the air

The HK450 is a very good choice bang for your buck. If I were setting up a heli today, that would be what I would be going for.

Post a flight video if your can...

i have the turnagy plush and sentry 18 25 40 60 and 80 , never had a problem with them and all programable by beeps or the card. the card is alot easyer to program them . you also want either a esc with a 3 amp bec or a seperate bec that can handle all the amps of the heli . 2 amps may be marginal especially with digital servos, never had a problem with the 3 amp one or ubec with 5 amps .

plush is decent. use throttle management to start it slowly. k-force is better. can start right in idle up. Also selectable 5/6V onboard switching bec.

both 40A.

Only trouble is that they are often out of stock.

Hmmm, I've had better days.

After landing on the tail rotor while setting up the 450 on my last outing. I thought I'd head down and fly both my helis. Coming out of a loop the blade 400 started piroing thanks to it's crap gyro. Lost orientation and put it into the ground for my first CP heli crash. Looks like it's a write off given a new 450 is cheaper than the few parts it'll take to fix it.

Thought I'd jump back into the saddle so I didn't leave on a bad note. I'm still having issues trimming the tail on the 450 although the rest of the build seems ok as it will hover almost hands free. It's got a HK401 gyro and a gotech gs-d9257 servo which holds ok after I stop moving the tail but it still drifts left in a breeze with 75.5% gain on the gyro. Was upping the gain to get it wagging but after putting it up with the setting above it started piroing. Managed to land it with no problems to find the tail drive gears stripped. My guess is the small strike last time out knackered them. Doesn't seem to take much. So now I'm heliless until I can get spares in.

I finished the setup and test flew my HK 450 V2 for the first time. It was with out incident. I didn't even have to track the blades 2 clicks of right trim on the rudder. The carbon core plastic blades give it very soft controls. I will be upgrading to true carbon blades. It is very smooth. Now I can clean up the wiring and paint the canopy. The red stripe was for contrast in the snow. Here is a picture of my electric Helis with the
HK 450 in the front.
