Well I couldn't take it anymore so I busted out the 3Dbatix foamy yesterday and went to Sugarhouse Park. Snow was 2 1/2 feet deep and after the 2nd landing to change to the 3rd battery my motor wouldn't run anymore I think I fried the esc. Every time I landed it got buried in the snow I cleaned it off real good b4 runnin it up again but I think it was just to wet to survive. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.

Lee – I found the link to the KF airfoil we talked about, and I found this thread where a small prototype was made.
https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...kline+fogleman
Back in 2006 dougmontgomery built a 40” depron Kline Fogleman airfoil. On the second page of the thread are a couple of videos of it in flight.
Depron Dynamite DLG Video 2 (1 min 59 sec)

His rendition reminds me of something halfway between an Alula and a 1.5m DLG. It looks like he (dougmontgomery) was interested in making kits for sale and therefore his excitement over the KF airfoil may be a bit subjective. It looks like the KF airfoil may have good application for sloping or putting a motor on it. It seems that people have lost interest in it, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t something to be learned from it. I am still curious a bit. I don't remember if you tried building one or not. It might be hard to cut. Or maybe it could be done in two layers.

There was a fire by my place this morning, just before heading to work I strapped my camera to my Cessna and took some shots. I didn't want to get too close for obvious reasons. Had it on center focus and mounted it with the wing too far into the picture so some of the pictures are fuzzy. But Ksl still used some of my pictures....

Anyone doing some Wednesday afternoon flying tomorrow? Let me know!

By way of the St. George trip, I'm also interested where/when the different festivities will be taking place. Anyone making an official UFO itinerary for the trip?

Still not sure if I'm going to make it down to St. George. Hopefully I can make it work.

Off-topic: if you guys remember the "Miracle on the Hudson" drama of captain Sully landing that airliner in the Hudson river, something similar happened in a flight from USA to Poland. An incredible crash landing with a great story, if you're interested.

Very cool video Todd. Thanks for the link. I think I'm going to go to Art dye today at 1:30pm and test out the little GWS floats I put on my EStarter. For those with geared planes, when I checked out the parking lot two days ago, there was a long melted strip in the center of the parking lot, if you felt daring enough to use it as a runway. Maybe I'll take one of my flying wings and do some of my own reenactments of that Poland belly landing in Todd's video.

EDIT: Pushing it back to 1:30pm. Batteries on the charger!
