Exactly my thoughts on the grass landings. There is a guy on youtube who flies one around, lands on the grass. Then he picks his plane up while they are still filming and you see the bottom. I thought to myself...sheesh, that isn't what I want to have happen to my plane every time I fly it.

I'm going to St. George on business this weekend. My meeting doesn't start until 3pm Friday. I was going to drive down early Fri am and fly at the club field (since I am a member now) until about 2:30. On Saturday I plan to fly from around 11 till mid afternoon then head home. The weather looks pretty nice.

Have you/are you going to maiden your Habu 32?

I'm hoping for good weather Friday afternoon, after I get back from Philadelphia on business, to maiden mine.

Which one? The first one I crashed on the second flight. Repaired and then destroyed on the 4th flight. The new one is finished and ready to fly. I think I'll take it down to St. George and maiden it there. I don't even want to think about cost per flight at this time.

Jeff, I didn't mean to bring up bad memories.....I meant the new one! If you do take it with you get some photos and video. I'm sure it will go great!

Here is a cheap way to make a plane. Maybe next sWARm someone could make it and have a contest on who can destroy it the most..

Someone flies it and all the other plane try to wreck it. I think after the first hit there wouln't be much left.

While that would be awesome, we'd need about 20 of them.

In my experience target planes have an expected flight time of about 90 seconds between hits with the UFO group.

We have a number of pilots now who are very accomplished hunters.

One of Lees Pelican kits will make an AWESOME target drone.
I had hoped to have one ready for the sWARm but other priorities keep getting in the way.

I'm trying to build one of these noob tube planes to be a target, if the motor and esc arrive in time. I think with enough core pieces to glue back together, it might last a couple flights.

I'm a pretty inexperienced pilot, so it might turn out someone else would need to fly it for it to be predictably stable.

Hey everyone,

I ended up with some other activities tomorrow morning but I do intend to get out to the Sod Farm to test fly my combat wings... but for me it will be about 2PM.

Hopefully there is still someone around to hit.

I may try to make that Friday lunch combat thing at Art Dye for a bit.
