Hope everyone had a great Xmas and new Year and more importantly .. manged a fly
Managed to get myself into gear for a fly at Semac this morning .. first in MANY months. 4 Planes 10 packs and a great morning for it! Actually just placed a HobbyKing order ... 20% off everything this long w/e (No new planes .. just the gear to convert the A-26 invader from Nitro to electric! ) Decided I would never want to run those two cheap nitros on the plane .. Aeronautical murder it would be
Now just need an airframe to run one of the 52 4 strokes
Cheers all

More regulation on the horizon

One hopes this new proposal does not extend to fixed wing aircraft

It does. The regulations include registration of all remote piloted vehicles. The only exceptions are indoor flying, drones of less than 250g operated recreationally, and operation of model aircarft solely at "approved" model aircraft fields. It is proposed that flying at "CASA approved" fields will be exempt. This includes at least MAAA and AMAS affiliated Club fields. More details in the attached below. Sorry about the quality but it is a graphic file on the CASA website.
Note this is all just a proposal at this stage but I would be surprised if it does not become law.

Its a shame it will destroy a young flyers interest in taking up the hobby ,maybe another yearly tax forever , and yet one is free to take up any ball sport with none of limitations, hurt pedestrians / spectators even motorists not that long ago a driver was killed by a golf ball and not even pay a cent ,insurance companies will be keeping an eye on this ,will it get to the stage that everyone will need personal liability cover ?

Ask for black max 380 and make sure is fresh by sloshing around in the bottle it does thicken with age my local bearing supply keeps it in the fridge , my motors were always done with a base layer then after cure a follow up to fill the fillets ect just dont get it on your fingers its a cow to wear off use a disposable glove and toothpicks can be handy to direct it around . cheers mate.
