Carbon fibre

Here is on for you Johann.
My CF undercarriage on my Funtana has collapsed. I had a gentle dead stick landing, no biggie but on touchdown it just folded and put a wheel spad through the wing too. It must hade some fracture cracks from the previous owner. I need to replace it now. What is the best way to cut and drill CF?

Lets do some ""dinning room table"" flying!

I will now join the wing and fit to the fuzz.

Torque rods.

Before I join the wing, it makes it easy to work with half a wing at a time, and insert the torque rods. I use bicycle spokes, cheap and strong. Bend the first 90deg as shown. Since the rod is smaller in dia than the correx flute, I use a pen refill to make a little bush. This is not a must do, its just a way of minimizing the play between stick input and glider output! Place two as shown, one at either end.

Time to join the halves.

Your colors work very well together!
It would be great to have some more like minded homoslopians up here next year! It's an awesome venue!! I am going to try and persuade some more regulars to build some Migs for next year's event so we can have a whole squadron of them flying.

I have a yellow and blue plane fetish A big portion of my hangar sports some variation of these colors. And no model of mine is complete unless it has its Blue Bulls sticker on

Re loops: give her time to prove herself!...and she will. You might want to try just a little less elevator and a tad more speed. With a slightly different section on one half will result in a roll out.
It's the only way I could get her to loop; plenty of speed with gradual elevator fed in with a little counter aileron held through the loop

Looks Right @ Arms Length ....

I haven't weighed the Mig but is feels more or less the same weight range as my Mini Pulse which gives very good performance on the E-Flite 480, 10X7, 3S setup. Wifly sell the Turnigy version dirt cheap at R185 a pop.

The Mig of a flying buddy, Gert Nieuwoudt, inspired me to build one too in the little time I had. Gert also flew his well worn Mig last week but admitted that seeing mine in action has now inspired him to build another one.

Will keep you posted when I do the E-Mig.

Cheers,
Izak (Fuzzy)
