You can get vinyl from Maizys, Signage places like GoGraphics might have off cuts to give away or buy also try the Car Mod shop in China Town Ottery. They have cool carbon look vinyl for cheap.

To connect the ailerons you can use:

Piano wire with a Z bend in it. They normally sell this at the hobby shop with thread on the one side for the clevis. You just need to cut and bend the Z yourself. There is a tool you buy to help make the Z. Otherwise Im sure there are tons of TUTs online and YouTube

Otherwise I sometimes use thin 2mm carbon rod and plastic clevises on both ends. Also should be the hobby shop.

What shops did you go to??

Thanks Sean, a pic would really help me! I tried looking at the pics that you posted on page 8ish but they are just not clear enough to work it out.

Ballsy, I went to the RC Hobby Shop in Tokai and Southern Hobbies. Both shops had the regular guys working, so would have thought they would have had a similar request in the past, but guess not!

Gewone vinyl then! I thought it might be some lightweight aero gauge stuff
Should be easy enough!

Thanks guys!

Hi Guys. I'm new to the site. I've been following the blog for a while now, picking up tips from the conversation. I have flown a little bit of power before but not yet tried slope. I have built my first Mig from the plans I got off this blog. Thanks Jim. It worked out pretty well. Have not flown her yet. would like to meet somebody at Maitlands some time to maiden her. I don't want to write her off on the first flight.

Welcome flydamitfly!!
Honoured to have your first post on RCG right here on our thread!!
Your Mig is VERY well built!!....and your color scheme ROCKS!!
Cant wait to meat you on the slope and see her in the air!!

dirtypot,
Sorry for taking so long with the pic!
When you go to the LHS, take the torque rod with cause you get different size "torque rod horns" or "nylon arms"

In the first few pics I made the "horn" from an old plastic crate. The last two pics are the ones you can (or maybe not) , buy from your LHS!
