GWS Pico Tiger Moth -- photos by Pat Daily

I have built 6 Pico Tiger Moths since 2000 and have 3 still flying. Two wore out and one was lost out of sight (The China Fleet Club Moth). I love these airplanes and they are wonderful on floats. Here are some photos of my 6 Moths. Thought you might enjoy them.

This plane is such a great slow flyer that I am ordering two more Pico Moths today! Thank you GWS for such a great design.

Hi Pat,

Thank you very much for posting these beautiful pictures, and you supports as well.
You have a very nice PTM squadron.
Is the tree one still over there ? Hope someday it could fly back to the base !

Originally I used the stock power systems with 8 nimh cells, then when lipos became available I used 2 cell lipos (800-1250 ma sizes). About 2004 I started switching to brushless with lipo batteries.

First brushless I used was a PJS 300s with lipos -- worked very well, especially on float planes.

Now I pretty much use headsuprc.com 2712 motors (1300kv) with 9 x 3.8 or 9 x 4.6 APC props with 800ma lipos 2 cell pack (or larger size pack like 1000ma or even 1250 ma).

The land plane version with 800 ma battery weighs about 9 ounces, float planes about 12.5 ounces. All are excellent slow flyers.

Thank you sir for your comments. I love dressing the Moths up a bit.

Just keep making the Pico Moth--they are wonderful little planes! GWS designers really scored big on that one.

Pat built his floats by himself, he did very great jobs on his PTM fleet.
