Hey check out microheli.com. I fly with the CNC main rotor head and stock blade grips and all is fine for the last 3 years. I did not like the CNC Blade grips. Good luck and Best Regards.

Tail Drive Gear/Pulley standard vs. Speed-Up


I see Eflight has discontinued the EFLH1455 tail drive gear/pulley and after some digging I found their replacement, the BLH1655.

With the 1455, they had a 1455A, which used an aluminum belt pulley, and was also a "speed-up" gear ratio.

I would like to know if the 1655A uses the same speed-up, and how I could tell by looking at one that was a speed up and one that was not, which was which? Does the speed-up version have a larger belt pulley? Is the one with the aluminum belt pulley always a speed-up part? Several vendors show the BLH1655A, but most of them do not mention "Speed-Up" anywhere in the product description.

But the venerable B400 looks to have been well-eclipsed now with later models, so us 'originals' mostly have either moved up, or out, I guess.

Yes, U R correct! I now have Trex 450 Pro and 600 Nitro. But I still like my B400...

I put a spare B400 chassis into a cheapo Huey UH-1 fuse from HK to make a inexpensive scale 450 heli, but just never got around to figuring out a good solution for the tail pitch control... need to get 'around the bend' required for the raised tail, and this current mock-up using a flexi-rod and sleeve just looks to need too tight a bend for my liking. I have some 90 degree plastic control rod arms from an airplane that would make a nice angle if I mount one on a bushing to the upright support, so that is what I will probably do. Just need to get around to finishing it up.

I have a MiniTitan 325 in a Cobra body, and I learned from that one that even if I left the B400 as a pod-n-boom arrangement, having that raised tail modification is super nice from both a clearance as well as a performance aspect -- with the tail rotor center of rotation moved up to the same height of the main mast blades, it just seems to fly so much sweeter.

I'm getting a visible and audible vibration. It comes when I'm in a steady hover but I can temporarily get it to go away with some pitch pumping. Kinda seems like a tail issue but it's so strange I don't know where to look. Any ideas? Will shot bearings make awful vibes?
