my project t-rex 450 pro FPV

hello to all
I have a new project
I'll ride my t-rex 450 pro in fpv

I have a futaba radio t10cp 35 mhz, I'm going to take a LRS scherrer UHF

for the camera, it will be a gopro HD

for video, it will TX / RX lawmate 1.2 ghz 500mw with 8dBi patch antenna (I'll buy all this at nghobbies, are what he is good?)

for glasses, it will be the base station fatsharks

for registration, it will be Pinnacle Video Transfer with my ipod touch

veiled for the moment ...

(If you find problems, tell me ...)

but here, I have a slight concern, I do not know what I need lipo ....
I know I need one for TX 1.2GHZ 500MW, but I do not know what to take
knowing that I need one as light as possible and sufficient to put it in my trex, I must limit the over-weight in order to have greater autonomy

I must also surely have to feed my lipos fatsharks 1.2GHZ lawmate and receiver, but I do not know what to take? probably forgot something

can you help me
I would like your opinion

thank you very much

Helicopter is the hardest way to do FPV

I would not choose 2.4ghz for video because at the moment someone around you will power on his radio on 2.4ghz, it will scrasmble your video. Also it is not possible to fly close or in town because of wi-fi.

1.2ghz from Lawmate is the best

a 14dbi antenna is for very long range flight. Start with the standard omni antenna that come with your receiver, you will be surprise of the result on 1.2ghz. You will not need Diversity and multiple antennas. The omni will be perfect for an helicopter up to 1km and over.
the antenna is heavy, you should make a mod to the tx if you can to replace the connector and weld a wire directly as antenna.

a very small lipo is enough. 450mah should last one hour with most cam/tx setup. buy severals and replace it oftenly.

your tx antenna should be mount vertically away from metallic part

Don't fly overhouse or road with your chopper, no one want to receive a piece of metal like that on the head, it is very dangerous.

for 2.4Ghz, I thought to AC because Trappy uses and even in town, and the AC seems to work well

I'd fly all alone, there will be nobody next to me with a 2.4GHz radio

Do what you want. It sounds like a fun project.
Just don't dismiss what VRflyer says. Dennis is a wealth of knowledge and experience. Even more important...he's one of the guys who takes the time to help others achieve success.

Just my 2 cents. I totally agree that helis are the hardest to FPV, VRflyer made good points (I respect him very much and he inspired most of us here to start doing this stuff!) but if you are already a really competent heli pilot it isn't too bad. If you are a rank novice... you are much better suited to fly fixed wing. You need to be a very proficient heli pilot to fly FPV helis, I would not want to be around someone trying to learn helis and FPV at the same time!!

I do not question its competence, on the contrary, if I created this post is for precisely gather as much advice and I thank you
I was thinking that the 2.4Ghz 500mw was the best, but we must believe that no ...
Lawmate 1.3GHz, 1.2GHz is the same as lawmate?
Otherwise, I saw the helicopter practice, I begin the 3D
I train on simulation as well (in RealFlight cockpit)
I suspect that ca not be easy, I know, already, on simulation, it is not clear
but it's like to start directly with a helicopter pitch

I took the combo 1.2GHz 500mw lawmate
good for the lipo tx, I must have 450mha, but which (2S, 3S ???)? would you have a small link
ditto for the rx if you have a link, it would be super

what lipo also for Pinnacle Video Transfer fatshark and glasses?

thank you very much

Get the lawmate 2.4 and fly it on channel 8. There is no wifi interference. Anyone that says otherwise hasn't tried it.

I see I am to late. The lawmate 2.4 was the better choice.

There is nothing wrong with what you got. It's very good. Just the 2.4 is better.

I power everything from my main flight battery and use a filter to remove any noise. You will need to regulate the voltage to 5 volts somehow.

I tried flying fpv with my trex 450 it was ok in the back garden where you have things relatively close to judge distance / drift but when I tried in a field with just grass around it was much harder . I went back to planes for the moment as I got a bit scared about chopping my head off if I drifted to close or someone else for that matter could be worth looking at one of these to help keep things stable http://www.heliguy.com/Extras/Helico...mand-Advanced/
