So many planes, So little time

I put mine together

I just got my Turbojet together and I'm having some fun now!

I went fairly stock, using Gensace 2600 mAh 3S packs.
I did balance the fans on a Dubro prop balance tool, using small bits of tape inside fan hub. I had a set of Turigy led lights from HK and I put those in by cutting the leading edges of wings and rudder fin to run the wires.

Dynam Twin turbo (3 min 33 sec)

Set my timer for 3:40 and land with 3.88 left in each cell.
I've had two real good bouncing landings from landing to hot
I'm happy with this plane, it runs pretty quiet too.

Well my turbojet has arrived, although not in my hands as for once the mail carrier arrived before 4 when I am usually home. So tomorrow I will have a chance to unbox.

The last week or so I have been trying to figure out a good paint scheme and have found some options but nothing I am dead set on.

I would love to incorporate some lime green on the plane but havent come up with any solid ideas yet.

I was even toying with something along the lines of the Hero Eagle 100 paint, just switch the colors here and there.

anyone have a more artistic view on this?

edit: I am thinking of using a scheme like member Richard Evans used (hope he doesnt mind me reposting his photo). Would like to change the black to green and the red to black.

thanks

Mike

Have you tried looking for a scheme on Airliners.net?
that's where I came up with the scheme for mine.

Well I went with something like this

the blue will be a pearl lime green, the yellow a pearl black, the nacelle will be silver/chrome at the front only and the inside will be black. wing tips will have some sort of color as well.

also the yellow line will have some slight changes, wont be an exact copy.

I have a cool stencil for the tail. that idea will remain hidden until finished.

cant wait for the finished product. Pictures to follow as soon as completed

at last I have finally started to build my jet.

I have come across one thing of concern.

It appears the factory has tied the elevator servo to the rudder servo with a y-cable that looks like the one that connects the two esc together.

is there something I am not seeing or understanding with this?

@nacho. That is obviously wrong. The y cable is for the ailerons, ESCs, or the gear if yours has retracts.

I think mine came something like that. If you have a y-harness on the ESC's and ailerons already, then congratulations, you got a free y-harness! Just remove it and do the wiring as necessary.

Did you get it with retracts? I guess it might be the only one available now. I'm really loving mine now that I installed retracts. (I have the original non-retract version I had to modify.)

Edit: Oh, and be sure if you do have to put your own y-harness from the ESC's (I forgot if they were pre-installed) one of them has the red wire removed from the plug, so both BEC's don't try to fight each other to power the rx. I put in a UBEC since I added flaps and retracts. So I have the red wire pulled from bothe ESC's. Good luck!

I soon realized the y was mistakenly placed there and will be using it for the ailerons now. I dol have the retracts and flaps are being installed this evening.
Is the ubec really necessary?
