I finally finished my first RCDP model. It's a 52 inch Piper Cub from Aeromodeller Magazine plans. I built a real model of this plane many years ago. It's great fun to fly. I wanted to create the same experience in RCDP.

Let's see more vintage models!

Well any of the 3D programs that can convert to .x files useful in RC Desk Pilot.

Blender is just one of a half dozen or so 3D creation and editing programs.

So I guess this means you would like someone else to upload some Heli's, as you're not experienced with 3D modelling?

Usually it's not out of the question to use some older FMS model, especially if it's available in an .mqo format. and export it to x. in Metasequoia but I'm not sure what needs to be cut away and animated with helicopter 3D models.

It starts to rapidly get out of the realm of the casual flight sim user when you start contemplating the process.

New Brooklyn Aerodrome Towel

Hello Desk Pilots!

Coming from some recent publicity on the cover of Make magazine,
the towel easy build delta is gaining some awesome recognition.
Here's the RCDP version of the towel. (for FMS too)

The towel is a fun and easy to build delta airplane. With prudence,
you can build it pretty inexpensively. The parts lists and videos linked
from the Brooklyn Aerodrome website (http://brooklynaerodrome.com/)
will help you get it built, flown, crashed and rebuilt. Go make it and
have some fun.

Build Thread: http://makeprojects.com/Project/-The...1#.T9fDaT5Yvr9
Build Videos: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBB7A58DCC7745FEB

Model Specs are:

AUW: 18 ounces (estimate)
WS: 42.0"
Length: 23.0"
Materials: Fan Fold Foam (FFF) DOW Bluecore with Coroplast Deck
Motor: brushless motor and brushless 18A ESC
Prop: 10 x 4.7 slow fly
Batteries: 2 cell 1800 mAh 10C 7.4v LiPoly
Transmitter: 4 channel 2.4Ghz like TTX404
Receiver: 6 channel 2.4Ghz like TTX600

Please try the RC Desk Pilot model and let me know how it flies
compared to the real model.

Oh my heavens!

Thank you, thank you to EVERYONE connected with this great sim, to the designers of these fabulous aircraft models, to the people who take their time and passion and translate these models to the sim, and especially to the guy who created this thread!

You guys ROCK!

I'm still learning the ins and outs of the software, and I have really appreciated all the effort that went into this.

Alas, the heli physics is pretty basic at this time with RCDP. -- ggunners

Someone requested a 4 channel high wing trainer.

So here's the HobbyZone SuperCub 4 channel

Nice! I am having a hard time with the Caudron but I think that is because my controller didn't calibrate correctly. They are both sharp looking planes.

I've flown my Eastbourne model (Tritle). My model flies very much slower and has much less loading than the model here. Some day I'll tweak the params here and see if I can get the simulator closer to my experience.
