This photo was taken by Harald Brötell Södertälje, Sweden who posted this and a few others on the rcsailing.net forum
I thought this one was one of those really good pictures that tells a great story and captures the moment!

A lovely midwinter Sunday morning with just a faint breath of wind.
Some of the Masterton Radio Yacht Club`s Canterbury J class fleet.

Tried my new USOM today. It wasn't very windy, but they were some gusts.
Boat worked real nice. I'm very happy with it. Have to try it now in the race.

You don't always need speed for a spectacular picture, I think:

Did you guys see that the AMYA has put out a "Special Web Edition" of Model Yachting magazine this month! They did it to encourge subscriptions and awareness of course. Very nice.

Here's the link to the 62 page publication: http://www.theamya.org/my/138-SampleWebEdition0801.pdf

Good stuff inside!

well.... it would be nice if there was a web companion online. perhaps a PDF version available for download a month after the physical publication. alacart pricing like ordering a back copy. cut a couple dollars off the cover price because it is not physically printed on dead trees.. or as an E-book via I-tunes or amazon.

I got a frantic phone call the other day from them.. it would appear that Paypal hadn't been sending the conformation info along to their store and the office lady "Michelle" was frantically calling folks while fussing at paypal on the other line. I had ordered the RG65 issue, got confirmation from paypal that the money had cleared and had been waiting patiently for about three weeks for my magazine to show up.

the imputous for AMYA's phone call was someone had ordered a mag back in APRIL(!!!), hadn't gotten it yet, and had written a rather caustic Email to them expressing their dissatisfaction. my description of the Email is apparently rather sanitary in comparison to the actual letter.
Michelle sounds like a nice lady, but she will talk your ear off! and I think she was happy to talk to someone pleasant on the phone that day.

flys and honey y'know..

coincidentally, this is also why my sainted bride is not allowed to deal with the department of public utilities, or bill collectors in general. I let her deal with the telemarketers though... that's fun.

This is a whole separate conversation for an entirely different thread.. but I couldn't agree more. Let's end this here, but I also have had my frustrations with the post of a AMYA issues.

PDF Issues available would be a great thing to see... but this thread is in regards to Photos of boats.
