See this thread is going the same way as the Jeti Duplex thread. Endless arguments about FCC approval.

Would be nice if it stuck to information about this new 2.4ghz system.

I'm guessing that if anyone picks up Graupner for distribution in the US then approval will be obtained. Given that Graupner radios have never in tha past really ever been offered in the US then I seriously doubt they care too much.

At first glance it certainly seems that they liked the Jeti solution. Very similar capabilities.

Graupner do seem all in a muddle with 2.4ghz though. What with originally selling Spektrum (or not), then offering iFS and Weatronic.

Seems that Hott is for the masses. Weatronic for the high end and not sure where iFS fits.

Seems they showed the MC32 with Hott as well. Thought that transmitter was as dead as the Dodo Going to be very late when it does arrive.

I think this is where you are confused on FCC laws. A "transmitter" is not referring to a handheld device that is used to control a R/C device. A "transmitter" is anything that has the ability to transmit on a frequency.

So, a module is in fact, 100% without question, a "transmitter".

Some pictures from Graupner's booth.
The MC32 is not a TX I would buy, but a lot of older pilots here like tray style TXes.

Some technical information:
The range is supposed to be 4000m (13,000ft, 4,300yd).
The boot time is <<1s, more like 0.1-0.25s
Up to 200 systems can be operated simultaneusly.
Everything can be updated via USB.
The RXes have integrated features similar to Jeti: The output channel can be assigned with failsafe values, "extensive servo functions" like mixers and stuff, and up to 4 channels can be ganged for simultaneous signal output. This enables level swash plate movement in helicopters, for example. All other cannels are put out sequentially, thus avoiding current spikes, as I wrote here.
It also works down to <2.5V.
This means, that the HoTT system is very likely to work with a normal battery setup, not requiring special stuff like some other systems here.

It has always been a gentlemen's agreement. With more and more products being developed and released that Graupner doesn't want to carry (batteries, fan systems, speed controllers) we will not have much of a choice but to allow sales to all of Europe.

The MC32 looks kind of nice, does anyone know if the gimbals can be rotated so that they work over a different set of angles? A lot of the single stick and some of the tray radios allowed this but I can't tell if that new radio allows the entire gimbal assembly to rotate.

I don't normally side with Jim Drew, but this time he's right. The FCC has lots of case law to back up their interpretation. Your interpretation is what earns people hefty fines.

Graupner by himself doesn't know that yet, because that transmitter is not yet ready developed, changes are still possible.
