Go to the tips thread for the VMX and read about the blueprinting you can do to tune up the forks.

Yup, Do that, but first try this> Loosen the 2 bolts on the bottom of the fork legs that clamp the axles, the stroke the forks fully up a few times, THEN while holding the forks fully compressed tighten the the 2 bolts back up. See if that helps, if not do the blue printing proceedure. Good Luck,

Hey Chris, quick question for you....dug into the rear wheel to make sure all was good, could not get into the clutch to check the adjustment because 2 of the hex (allen) heads on two of the flywheel cover bolts had been rounded out right from the start. I tried all my own hex wrenches also and none of them would even bite, I did manage to get the other two of them loose...any ideas?
Thanks in advance! 70 Mach |

Same as above, Dremel a slot then use a screw driver. Sorry about that let me know if you find any other build issues.

Lets see after about 6 time out with this bike I have had to replace the gyro gears, the sprocket set screw came loose and it is a son of a gun to get to, I finaly drilled a hole and can get to it now,,,the gear on the side is now smooth and needs replacing, not in stock so far, the forks need to be worked on, they dont go up and down, maybe needs new oil or something, chain has come off a couple time even with it readjusted, man I work on this more than my old Harley, good thing I can fix things or I would have a $450.00 paper weight. Broken again right now and am just about tired of fixing it EVERYTIME I take it out to run. Oh ya who ever assembled this at the factory must have missed the instruction on how not to over tighten ALL the screws, see they only go into plastic and when they are over tightened they strip, been trying to get by putting super glue in the holes to get some of the important stress points to tighten up, So far my opion of this bike is,,,, when running it is cool to drive, but it has broke down more time than I can believe. I wish I had the $450.00 of my hard earned money back.
