Test glides look good so far, need to re-hinge the rudder.

Well progress so far is to design the model in autocad. I am getting some 3mm depron next week at the club meeting, and I will see if I can get a local guy to cut it on his laser or i'll cut it out by hand.

I'm really intrigued with these micro gliders.

I am currently waiting on one of Alien Tech's Blanik's for Indoor towing and my buddy and I just finished a Folding Motor Glider.
We got the plans here on RCG and went at it.
Bob did the building and I supplied the parts. It came out really good. Flies great.
18g AUW
Vapor brick and Motor.

Heres a video of one of the first flights in a small hangar.
A bigger space and more room to glide will be a blast.

I've been thinking of doing a motor glider, and have been giving the retraction mechanism a bit of thought. This however, is pure genius, such an elegant solution. Thats the thing that blows me away about the innovative folks on this site.

Hmmm.....which motor glider to do?

Here's the finished glider. Glide tests outside continue to look good, straight and true, I may need to add some clay in the nose as I think it's going just under it's maximum glide ratio speed.

39" the same as the width of a sheet of depron.

hey guys, been out doing a little building
this ones just a prototype under size build for now, havent settled on radio gear i want in it yet. its crude but fairly scale, the only part i changed was about 10% larger horizontal stab.
span right now is 12" but i think final one should be twice that maybe less. weight unpainted is 3 grams including the nut for balance.
its a LET L-23 which i got the three views on this site: http://www.hobby-bench-buddy.ca/Bett...r_G_3view.html
lots of good veiws mainly collected from RCG lol

glide tests with this one look really good so i will try a larger one next once i figure everything out.

If motorgliders are also "allowed": SF-28 Tandem Falke, 60cm, 17.4g.

Hi, all.

This thread goes better every day.
Wgeffon, thanks for sharing the details and video of the Folding Motor Glider.
Derk, very nice glider. Are you going to build the bigger one in balsa?
RetroS, the Falke is very neat, you have a video of it flying?

Have good flights.
