AP Mods for a Parkzone Radian

Ive been doing some mods to my parkzone radian lately to fit my needs for a ariel platform. This includes the ability
to mount the camera up front and not have the prop in the way, secondly adding wheels for landing on hard surfaces,
and adding carbon fibre to stiffen the plane up.

The componenets i am using in this radian are.

Scorpion 2215-18
GWS 9050DD
stock - E-flite 30amp
stock - pkz servos
spektrum ar6200
turnigy 1300mah20c - ordering some 3s2200mah30c soon

Total weight:

978g/34.5oz - plane lipo camera
768g/27oz - plane lipo
652g/23oz - plane

The major thing i did was make a motor mount to be used for a pusher prop style. I made this during my friends woodwork class
in about 10 minutes, there was no initial design or anything. I took out the heavy parkzone 480 motor(105g) and replaced
it with a scoprion 2215-18(62g) with a gws 9050DD i gave it a small test and it pushed out about 1000grams/35oz.

Some other things ive done.
Extra CF in here to help only the wings tight, and make this area more ridged.

Pan capabilities with stock mount, but will be changing up the camera mount on my next mod.

Vertical stab at this area was very weak, so some carbon fiber was a must

Cleared up alot of room, to room fpv equipment perhaps in the future.

what it looks like

There will be more to come that im working on right now, so stay tuned,

Edit - october 26

Added some wheels today, very simple concept nothing fancy that can't be done with house hold tools. I had the wheels put in with a low profile, because I will not be taking off on rough land, just for landing on hard surfaces like streets, and stuff, and still be smooth on grass too.

Camera mount.

Looks good. How much weight did it take to balance out the camera on the front?

Interesting modifications that most will wait and see the result. As you say this is a dramatic approach comparing other mods. I will reserve comment until we all see how it goes...good luck!

Nice mod.

Also, not sure if it's just the picture but make sure you got the prop installed correctly for pusher configuration.

Prop orientation makes a lot of difference in thrust.

thanks, its on properly, letters in front, ive tested it and it works.

The camera is 7oz, so thats all that it took, with the battery in stock position.

Nice! I like the new camera position better than the first. Keeps it out of the way just in case something bad happens. I do like the wheel but did you put any tape on the ends of the wings where it will scrape when the wing drops?

I'll be switching mine over to Pusher like yours here soon. 1000g from that motor? Hmm. Definitely looking to take it as close to vertical as I can. Think mine is a little heavier than yours though.

Thanks for the write up!

Im pretty sure its close to that, i didnt do a fully test, but i will do soon hopefully. But i had a 11x4.7sf on it and it gave like a few hundred grams more thrust, but i get good enough performance with the gws, plus it draws to much.
