Seeing as history says Minnesota used to be under a glacier at one time and a tropical rain forest another time I'm not betting that we can do much to influence the climate changing.

All I'm going to do is enjoy it as in a couple more days we'll be back to below zero windchills.

I just got my AJ Yak 55 at the AMA Expo this last weekend! Just wondering what the hot ticket is for power.

I have both an EF 2818T/900, and an Omega 103g available to go in immediately. Or, I could purchase a 130g Omega, since that's what Joe flies in the video. I want to stay with 3S 2100 mAh batteries since I have a pile of them.

Also, I'd like to go with 13x6.5 for the prop. I picked up a sweet carbon fiber electric XOAR in that size at the expo, and I want to use it on the Yak.

So, any suggestions, tips, opinions, etc?

There is a Motrofly that a lot of the guys are talking about that uses that size prop, so, just do a search of this thread for "Motrofly" and I'm sure you'll find it...

Where do you get Motroflys? I've heard a lot of people talk about them, but I've never had one. I've only got experience with EF, Hacker, Omega, and E-Flite.

Sounds like you already are ready to go. Either motor will be great with the 2100's and a 13x6.5.. pleanty of power.

you can't lose with either of those. Good, lightweight setup. The 103G Omega might give you just a tad more grunt w/ a 13x6.5

I got two more flights in on the yak today. I was working on mixing out the KE mixing. about 5% elevator up for left and 5% down for right seemed to take care of it.

Too bad the cold weather is blowing back in starting tomorrow. It's been a nice few days.

Hi fliprob, I have about 6 flights on the yak with the 130 omega, 3s1800 valuehobby gforce battery, 13 x 6.5. It flies perfect in precision w/fwd cg, and is floaty if you move the pack back. I also tried 4s1800 nanotechs and 12 x 7 xoar and it did great, a rocket and balistic pull out. Could tell that the stall was coming on fast in transitions though. With the 2100's you may want to stay 103 omega if you favor low 3d, or want to fly at smaller fields.

he mentioned the 2818T Torque and the 103G Omega as what he had on hand.....the 103G is a slightly higher kv, and will probably give just a little more amps and watts

130G works too.

light and low huckin', 103G, 2818T, A30-16M

nice! was most impressed with the yak, it flies much bigger. landings were super smooth with my set-up. with the big open cowl u can easily switch between motors and not have too worry about spinner gaps
