Check Your Bolts!!

I will be running the 130g Omega with 40c 2650 3S on a 14X7 Xoar prop. That is the perfect setup in this size range IMHO.

When I finish making it ...tomorrow/monday.

But as Noll says, if luge built a 40"-57" with us before, there's nothing out of the ordinary

Can you share your results, or have Ben and AJ sworn you to secrecy?

SFG's: more solid in 3D and slower maneuvers, more rudder authority, as usual with SFG's changes the feel of the rudder.

no SFG's: more solid in precision than with the SFG's and at speed has really excellent tracking. still has plenty of rudder authority for things like KE loops. for tumbles you'll need to watch excessive aileron throw as the ailerons are dominant over pitch and yaw and will roll out of a deep tumble. It will still 3D great without the SFG's but you will need to be smoother on your rudder in upright harrier without them, maybe bump up the expos. As is common, increasing the angle of attack helps upright harrier. Hovers are great and will happily rotate steadily against torque (not as fast as the bipe... well, nothing will rotate against torque as fast as the bipe ).

It's a great all-rounder, though SFG's will help it dance more on one side of the line or the other... precision on one side, more extreme aerobatics on the other. Anyone wanting a little IMAC plane, Yak 55 without SFG's is great... similarly the SFG's will help get your freak on. What's cool with the Yak either way is that rolls look very axial with the fuselage shape the way it is...

Just out of curiosity, is the fuselage "slab sided" like the real one is? Looking at a real one just a few blocks from me, I noticed that the sides are really pretty flat, with a rounded top and bottom. Only the front part of the fuselage is rounded to match the cowling.

Hmm, 3 team pilots are either flying or will fly on 3S. That is a pretty good recommendation. So why am I still wanting to try 4S?

+1

Plus I little running a smaller prop than most people. That is me being strange again!

Haven't made up my mind yet. Need to see some video of a 4S powered Yak.
