Red is good but I have two 71's and an Osiris in red.

Oh and the vyper in red.

Are the 3DHS long arms required for the rudder on this bird?

Not too long. I'm in the inner hole on the 3dhs arm. You could easily just make a rudder arm from a scrap of plywood or carbon if you don't have the 3dhs arm or don't want to wait on ordering one. You may want extended throw on the elevator also.

This little plane will tie one up in a tumble with full throws...and has a really fast roll rate also...if you go full throw. You don't have to of course....

I used the stock HS-65 arms on all surfaces. Outer holes on the rudder and elevator. Second hole in on the ailerons.

if you want a more powerful servo get some Savox SH-0255mg digitals.

Here's my throws with the stock arms (Futaba 8FG).

Rudder with stock arm, outer holes - end points at 140 and 132. Rudder is 1/8" from hitting the elevator in both directions.

Elevator with stock arms, outer hole. End points both at 140. I have 50 degrees up and down travel.

Ailerons with stock arms, second hole in. End points in the 130s on everything. I have 35 degrees up and down travel.

looks like the savox 0257 is the quicker of the line at .09 sec, so those on the rest of the surfaces and the 0255 on rudder works for me!

Put 5 flights today on this little yak....lots of fun...

I'm gonna keep it in my truck for a week or so to fly at work, I'm really enjoying it recently since I've taken it out the past few days.

Mines coming back out with a new Omega 130 up front. Our big WATTS fly in is this weekend so I hope to get some good flights on it there.

Try a Xoar 14 x 6 for 3s - nice balance of thrust and speed. APC 13 x 6.5 also, but slower spool up, not much.

they might be quicker slightly, but it is by no means a noticeable difference. The added torque of the 0255 if worth the minute loss of speed. You do need to get 6.0 volts to them.

I'll have to order the Xoar. I'm pretty sure I have the APC on hand. Been so busy organizing the event I have not had much focus on my airplanes and what I need to order for them. Let's hope for a long fall!
