You could try it, but the point of checking this stuff out to make sure you're not over the stated limits of your equipment.

You could try a motor rated for higher current, but you'll just end up at with no decent run times. You could pitch the prop back, but once you go away from 10" on the HL prop you have to break the locking tabs off, and just trust friction to hold the pitch into place (so: not good).

Like I said before, I use the APC 11x9x4 prop, cut down to 10". This works well for me and my 870kv motor.
Only at the stock 10 inch pitch. you can bring the pitch back and get it below 40a and that works just fine, thats how I did it. Its variable prop so use it to your advantage and dial in as much as you need.

Just dont be tempted to pop the prop on stock and spin it up as it will draw 50 ish amps and the motor wont take that for long.

P-47n

My latest mod. I added spacers to the wing near the fuselage and clipped the wing tips. Thanks to Callie Graphics for the decals. I test flew the wing on another fuselage before I finished it and it flew great. A few paint apps yet and she'll be ready.

What do you mean by clipped the wings and what does that accomplish. I have a long winter ahead of me and want to do some mods on mine.

The wing tips on the P-47 N were squared off slightly. Republic put a spacer near the fuselage to add fuel tanks to extend it's range. It was developed to escort B-29s in the Pacific. For the model it rolls a bit faster but otherwise it flies the same.

(if you like check out my video....jump to 2:25 for the landing)

And im also a big fan of the flaps, you dont need them but they make landings slower and easier, the extra weight is negligible and totaly worth it if you ask me
Thank you for the advice and the video.

Is that a vario prop or a durafly prop with the hub painted? Nice looking plane!

Here is the belly of mine, its getting a bit worn but I just keep touching up with Sharpie.

I dont have the clear skid plates on as I chucked them out when I first got the plane thinking I would only land on the wheels..............sometimes they dont cut the grass for ages.......lol

It probably does 30% on the belly now.....

Note about the Gyro:
I still think that it is not needed on this plane but here you go, the best option would be this:

AR635 RX

A new spektrum AS3X full range RX designed for park sized aircraft.

I saw that in the VisionAire thread. What really sucks about that is that it's an RX, and only works with spektrum stuff... no thanks!

does anyone have the MRrc sound system in this plane? wondering if it fits without a bunch of drama? does it affect flight times and is it heavy enough to cause the plane to fly noticably different? thanks. heres my baby now!

Nothing wrong with spektrum stuff. That said it works with JR as well.

Futaba FASST and DSMx are both multipath freqency agility communication. Thumbs will cause a crash 10,000 more times than any of either of their radios.
