At the LHS I picked up Red,flat black, and silver foam safe, "Testors" paint..I tested out the silver by repairing, and blending the area where the decals were, and the match is perfect!
What is the actual color of the silver you used? I really want to remove the stock decals on mine too but already know the silver is coming off with them. I've got a small jar of the Testors brush on to touch up the trimmed out areas for the flaps. It's close but not as close as what you have.

After making my self Ku Ku trying to decide on a motor with the HL 4-blade prop I have decided on the Hacker A30-10XL V2 and going to run it on 4S with the CC Ice Lite 75 esc, I am going to try and target around 800 watts with this so it should be nice ride.

If I am over on the watts say no more than 850 max I will back the pitch down to a 9 instead of the 10 the way it comes if I am not at the 800 watt target I will increase the pitch of the prop till I get there but I am thinking that the 10" may just do it, we will see.

Dimensions and weight of the Hacker are around the Power 25 but should be close to the power of a 32 size motor.

Any one wanting the specs of this motor here is a link http://www.aero-model.com/Hacker-Bru...-A30-10XL.aspx

I can now start to get everything ordered up, I hate to start a project and not have everything there on my bench ready to go.

will have pics as things progress.

My planes have been sitting too long!!!! I brought out the Jug to run up the motor....one retract doesn't work. We've had 20-30mph wind for weeks now....so even driving around the parking lot is enjoyment....But I haven't flown this plane in weeks...

SMRCF Warbird Day 2012

The club I'm in, Stone Mountain RC Flyers in Georgia, had Warbird Day this past Saturday (the 13th). The wind was of course a P.I.T.A., 7 & 8mph gusting to 12 or 13mph with the direction constantly changing, but not a cloud in the sky all day!

Someone got three pretty cool pics of my P-47, thought I'd share them:

I'd take 7-8 any day! They call Chicago the windy city. Go look it up, it's not even on most lists. Dallas, on the other hand is usually pretty close to the top.

Heck, a 7-8 mph wind day around here means it's time to get the UM planes out!

7-8 that is almost dead calm ! our micro days in Puerto Rico are 10 - 15 mph
