Is it lighter than the plastic piece?
I haven't done an official weigh in but I bet the machined aluminium is a little heavier. Very small amount however.

I put my flap servos HXT900s) in with hot glue. No problems so far. I also used the stock motor mount for my Power 25 (1250 KV) and the cowl spacing is perfect. I have an upgraded mount in my T28 (aluminum) and yes I would say it is unbreakable but the firewall is not. I would rather replace a motor mount which is available than try to fix a firewall that is not. I don't have to a radar gun but with an APC 9 x7.5 is really hauling the mail!

P-47j

I've made a little more progress on the P-47J conversion. Cowl flaps will be next along with filling the intercooler exit doors.

That looks great!
What did you make that cowl out of?

Thanks!

The cowl is made of some 1" yellow foam R board I had laying around. Several coats of a light weight spackling and Durham's rock hard mixture to fill imperfections.

where can I get that aluminum motor mount for a power 25? I could pull the motor off my Ultra Stick.

Directly from the source. I'm unsure which mount you would need but I bet it's this one.

Again, a power 25 fits the stock mount fine. I still fail to see any benefit to that part at all...

It's shiny

Really putting a wing on the back of a Honda has about the same added functionality, but that doesn't stop the masses of people from doing it.
