That's the recommended prop size from E-Flite. I wanted to know what prop size people were using on the jug with this motor. Preferably on 4 cells. I'm thinking a 9x8. Really the stock prop is about right 9.5x7.5 IMHO but it would probably flex too much.
E-Flite motors have always out performed their ratings in my experience.

if you are looking for speed in 4s you should go with 8x8..

I know it's been said over and over but I am here as another reminder to all to not use a 4S on stock motor.

I fried mines using a 4S 2200 40C yesterday. Although I enjoyed about 12 flights using the bigger batt, the engine WILL die! The esc seemed to be ok but I ordered a 60amp Turnigy Plush esc and a Turnigy g25 870kv from Hobbyking because after flying 4S, 3S is just too slow for me now!

Been flying the 300 prop but wondering now would it be ok for the new setup? Any advice?

I have probably 100 flights on my stock motor on 4 cells. Now I am not running the whole flight wide open but probably 10 or so high speed passes per flight.

I have the powerup 480plus and 60 amp ESC from eflite. I have been running 4s for some time with 10x10 prop.
This is a lot of prop and can draw more amperage than the motor can take. Caution must be used and full throttle can only be used for short bursts, but 60% throttle will zing past most any electric plane at the field... I fly short flights, constant aerobatics for 4-5 min on 2200mah.

I'm not recommending this for anybody else, it's just an example of what some fool is doing. LOL
