Sometimes when the plane is flying towards you or away, and the antenna of your transmitter is pointing directly toward the aircraft, you can create a situation where the antenna of the rx and the tx antenna are perfectly in line. This orientation is the worst possible for signal reception, compounded by the fact that the Motor and ESC tend to act as a "block" especially when the plane is moving towards you. Since the airplane is moving, loss of signal in this case tends to be very brief. Point being- you don't always have to have a source of interference to get hit on 72mHz.
Again, only a possibility. Quote:

The same thing can happen on 2.4ghz, which is why on DSM rx's that have satellite receivers, they instruct you to orient the dipole antennae at 90 deg angles to each other.

Got used P 47 about five minutes ago, it has a nice crack in the wing going from just in front of the wheel wells for the retracts back about 2 inches, mixing up some 5 minute epoxy to fix that crack and one at the end of the elevator. Love the looks of this thing! I will be putting the flap servos in as well! Got to charge some batteries to see if I can get out later this afternoon!
