How do I repair the wing surface on my E-flight Ascent?

Hi,
Well, I managed to tear the bright red wing material on my E-flight Ascent in two places. The tears are only one or two inches long but I'm not sure how to go about repairing them. I've noticed the bright colored rolls of film material in catalogs but don't know if this is a poduct I should buy or how to install it.

Sorry for such a basic question but as you can tell I'm a newbie.
Thanks,
LBM

Go to the Prop Shop and get a MonoKote trim sheet in a color to match.

This stuff has a sticky back and doesn't need to be heated to apply.

Should work.

Or use some packing tape.

It's makes great invisible repairs (get good stuff!) and the price is fantastic.

I have an Ascent that has been through the bushes a couple of times and have used the above mentioned materials with good results. I eventually purchased a roll of red transparent Ultracote and ironed it on each damaged panel to get like new results. I planned on scratch building an aileronned flat wing for it in the future and the extra film will do that and maybe some modified tail feathers for it too.

clear Monokote

tape is great to keep it going until a permanent fix can be done. One of my favorite tricks is clear covering. reapproximate the torn edges and patch with a round (less likely to peel) patch of clear. Remember the 10 foot rule.
