Out of interest - is there any reason for not leaving that plastic plug on and using the wires that come from it. Just thinking it may be better for me to do that than wreck the board - not sure about my ability to do stuff that small/fine yet.

So could you leave the white plastic plug on and just use the wires that come from it?

thanks

Rick

Hi Tim,

Where did you find the wires with the single end plugs?

Thanks,

Go to http://www.sparkfun.com/ and type in "jumper wires" in the search box. Saves a ton of time!

Hi Rick.. yes you could leave the plug on, if you feel the leads from it are long enough? I just like a challenge
I'm fortunate to have a mega RF soldering station (Metcal) and can remove the complete header plug in about 3 seconds.
Next op is to chop of the controller from the NK.. I like small and tidy.

thanks - just wondering if it's easier (safer) for me to extend the wires than to remove the white plug. I'm sure I'll manage - I like neat and tidy too so I'll see how it goes.

Great thread, but please forgive my ignorance : Does it take one or three Wii boards to make this setup ? I'm a bit confused by the pics.

Thanks.

Only one Wii MP+ is needed with One Arduino board for control.

Wired as in the pics on Alexinparis's site.

The WM+ from Walmart @ 19$. Mine had some different colored wires from some of the others pictured.

RCG-Johnorama helped with the setup of my controller and I put a nice dent in his wire pin supply!

Lights -blinking LED was a good sign and the programming was good on the second try, as we forgot to press the compile button after commenting the SS ESC line in the Arduino program.

Big thanks Troy for the Vimeo tutorial on programming the Arduino, without it I would have never figured it out.

Everything looks good on the GUI with WM+ showing reaction on all 3 gyro axis.

Will re-install on a Tri tommorrow.

My ESC's are not arming, I get 3 beeps like normal then 1 long beep, then I hold the yaw full right and at min throttle but still nothing.

Hitec optic 6 in ACGL mode.
HK super simple non-programmable ESC's
2.4ghz optima rx.
