Can you add another servo to the Albatros brick? I was just looking at the photo that cmdl posted and it looks like it has a socket for another servo - or is that something else? I'm thinking of buying the Albatros on sale and using the guts for another micro WWI project, but would like to add ailerons.

Yes. The Currently $40 Albatros Bricks are 4 Channel and can also run an external brushless esc.

they look to fit hk5320 servo plugs. ill test that later.

me at nite, dsm2 32grams AUW aileron on the bottom.
the lights are my lights, 20 inches, so a little excessive. 0805 leds and resistors, 1 gram.

Cool! Do you know if the Spektrum/E-Flite micro servos would work with it?

I was flying the Albatros last night at the local golf dome, I just love this plane, a very stable, solid flyer. Touch and goes are big fun with it. My only compliant is that it tends to snap out of loops. It's a bargain at the regular price, this is an absolute steal!

I don't have one of the Flyzone boards, yet, but Nemo should have all of the stuff to test it.

no spektrum servo do not fit, tho the hk5320 syle plug fits real nice, 1.25mm pitch. i have not checked the polarity, but i would guess center power.

That's too bad. What's your experience with the hk5320?

very good. if i dont solder the PCB much they last. i like them better than as2000l servos. super quiet.

After reading this thread for a while I couldn't resist - Albatros came today and the Fokker Dr1 is on its way ...

After a short running of the gearbox I disassambled the fuselage in order to make it quiet.

Some grease, 15 min break in running and a reassembly with UHU POR did the trick.

Now it is smooth and quiet.

When reassembling the gearbox I corrected the alignment because the camber was a little too much for my taste.

After I heard of some quickly dying motors and saw that there was no cooling for it, I decided to change this.

I drilled some holes in the motor dummy and the fuselage to bring some fresh air onto the motor to cool him down.

I'll open the cockpit in front of the pilot, so the air can pass here.

I was very surprised to see that there are "real" servos on the board - was able to set 125% to improve the deflection of elevator and ruder.

To be continued ...

Or, you can carefully remove the servo arms, move the push rods to the outer holes, then reattach. Stock servo travel works ok for me.

Good idea for the motor cooling.

I have moved the linkages to the outer holes on the servo arm, the inner holes of ruder and elevator and rised the travelling to 125%.

125% travelling gives you a better resolution - more steps make it smoother.

You did all that? Must have lots of travel now! Funny, I'm pretty happy with the stock throws.
