With Everything its only about $33... and With DJ's great trick of soaking the parts in Alcohol to remove the paint, they become the greatest scale WWI ARF kit ever... at least it will be when full landing gear sets are available.

She's a beauty DJ !!

Someone mentioned panel line uniformity.

I did my PLH alby lines with a make shift jig spinning the model on it's nose paralell to the firewall. I used a liner pen but I'm sure you could use a scribe to indent the foam.
Not sure if it is relevant or would work at this scale but what the hey.

Again nice model !

What is the length of the CF axle? Mine broke and some portion of it is somewhere in the grass in a field.

Thanks!

3-3/8" or 80mm, as measured directly from the axle removed from my Albatros.

FWIW: Tower just started shipping land gear assemblies for the Albatros. I have three on the way!

It's a Powerline Hobbies, manufactured by green models (maxford's stuff is green models too but this one is a different kit 53")

I didn't want to get to heavy so I removed a whole bunch of foam before I started painting. The Mauve is Testors North Atlantic Purple and the green is Tamiya Green. The grey is Testors Light Ghost Grey and the red piping is Tamiya red. all are acryilics. I will post templates of the paper hatches and cowl pieces shortly. I will also post a dash decal when finished.

That is really a beautiful rendition, Dave!

Have you given any thought to producing a "Collector Series" of prepainted Flyzone Albatros airplanes? I love the original, but the Albatros planes were so colorful, I think there'd be a market for a new paint scheme being offered every few months. I know I'd buy a few of them! I'd try doing this myself, but there's no way I'd get the kind of results that I'd want. Your plane looks awesome.

I broke two, after which I replaced the brittle carbon rod with thin wire. Haven't had a problem since, and the flex helps "dampen" landing bounces.

Yes, thanks for the tip.

UNGN: I'll let you now what I get when the landing gear "assemblies" are received.

Dave Johnson: You are an artist extrodinair!

Two tires. The description for the part number associated with the part number HCAA6347 is misleading to say the least. Description is:

"Complete Main Landing Gear Set", but there is no axle or the landing gear supports, just the wheels. So, the recommendation to use a piece of wire for the axle is valid, and other mods will have to be developed to replace other parts of the Land Gear Assembly.
