New to Rc scene

Hi guys i'm new to this Rc scene.

I started off with a cheap Rc Toy from Toys 'R us. It was pretty good for the price i got it for. Thats when i started to look into Rc more.
I realized there were different kinds and types. Trucks,Buggys,cars.. Nitro/electric.
So I did some research i decided ill start off with an Electric of course, nitro has to much maintenance. Which is better to get? A truck or buggy? I'm pretty sure they both can be used on grass, dirt, tracks, and bumps correct? Are either waterproof also? Is there any different to them?
Thank you guys in advance.

Buggys and trucks are very different. They both have there pro's and con's and both have their strenght in different riding style.

Some models are water proof or water resistant but you still need to take care of them and clean them afterwards.

Take a look at Traxxas Slash, check out Traxxas Slash on YT and you will quickly see that these thing are awesome.

I am a big fan of Traxxas, been one for over 20yrs, most LHS carry them and parts are very easy to get. Company has great customer service.

Those three Traxxas vehicles that rcdude recommended are also touted as waterproof. Realistically water resistant. (lots of maintenance to keep some of the parts from corroding).

Rustler vxl or the slash vxl or the slash 4x4 only buy a 1/10 scale not a 1/16 too small lol

the traxxas 1/16 would be fun if you don't have a huge area to run since they are more like 1/12 scale, but a rusty vxl or slash 2wd would be a fun starter. traxxas screws aren't the best so be carefull running in water.

get it from a hobby store, just make sure to buy it from the place youll most often bring it back when you need help. if this reason isnt obvious enough maybe you need to reconsider the hobby.

avoid nitrorcx at all costs. they are not good for kits at all. go to the hobby shop, it may be far away but when you start breaking parts(it will happen) that 20 miles won't seem so far anymore.

well you can always order parts online but when you need an expert youll have to drive to the hobby shop, eventually. experts that youve already spent hundreds on tend to be very more helpful, its the best and easiest way to kiss their a$$.

yeah, that's when you order online automatically. but if you have one close, like within half an hour of driving or 45 minutes for a track. tracks tend to be a lot more helpful for somereason, more than the average lhs, which only wants to help you if your going to make money.
