Hot news from Jiri's candy store

Together with Dalibor he is working on a new Viking 2 E called "Light and Strong". The goal is to make this ship very light but strong enough. This "Light and Strong" version should be 100-130g lighter than the regular one. But the final weight is not known yet as it is still work in progress.

Dalibor's power train for this ship is already tested and ready to mount - Mega 16351E/5.2 Kontronik with Prop RF 17/13 a temporary battery for testing 4S-2650mAh Turnigy. He plans to use 4S-2200 55/80C PowerHD for flying. Whole RC installation in HV only. This setup is 270g lighter than Dalibor's regular one.

Expected AUW should be 2,6kg with 2.6kW power setup.

My latest achievement on full carbon 3.2m plane similar to Viking is -2656gr.
NEU 1115/1Y 6.7 17x13 RFM 6S 2100mha 90C batts.
Castle 100 LITE log data 3000watts 190amps static.

Is this simply a new lay-up, or a completely new mould/plane? I really like the idea of "light and strong"

This is just a new lay-up. You know, as he is getting older Dalibor falls in love with thermals hunting with Viking 2 E where every gram counts and that is why there is a WIP called Light and Strong. When the work is done I believe Jiri will add Light and Strong option into his Viking's price list.

Thanks for the info. Even if the "Light and Strong" was avalible now, I should stick with what I have already decided on. Later on I may get a purpose built Thermal ship. It's pretty limiting here because we have a 400' ceiling (legally) unless I want to drive for an hour and half or so out of town.

Good find! I just finished my rx pack install in viking. This battery is awesome:
hyperion 25c 550mah 2s stick 64x18x14.5

but I also used one rectangular 850 2s pack.

Pictures to follow, but motor setup was perfect.

1409 1.5y 6.7, 7s gens ace 60c 2200 castle 100 ice lite, rfm 17x13... PERFECT!

Rats, it does not show min max and average. Voltage sag... UNDER 2V !!!!

RPM: 58K

Max Amps: 130A

Watts: 3600

Climbed pretty good too. This has got to be my most efficient setup after the 1512 2.5 10s.... man, J Morris, yuo had it right this whole time!!!!!
