It has seemed to help static thrust. I have only given it the one launch test so far as the weather hasn't been too nice.

Jace, when will you be around again?

I still have to do a final fine balance to your 70mm alu' fan. Haven't had much spare time of late.

I have to replace the broken fan of my T-45

Hello everyone,
after less than one year flying / crashing my T-45,
I have to replace the broken fan.

Can anyone help me finding spare parts, or compatible parts ?
The stock setup is a 64 mm fan ;
The best would be to find simply the spare fan.

If needed, I could also repalce the whole fan unit,
but I would like to keep my motor and esc.

I am not interested in increasing the power, but I would like to have at least the original 430 Watts of the stock setup
Any advice is well accepted.

Best regards.

The stock EDF is a SAPAC 64mm 6-blade unit. You can sometimes find them generic on ebay, but usually as a complete unit (motor + fan) and not well-balanced.

Hello,
thank you,
I was looking for these fans, and actually I found them, but I would not like to buy also the motor.

Anyway, I will continue my search, and then . . . I could also buy the whole unit and sell the motor only.

Best REgards.

Look at HobbyKing. They have 'generic' no-name fans... and likely to have that SAPAC one in there. Fan only.
At worst, pretty well any other cheapie fan would do anyway.

I am currently using this fan as a replacement in my T-45. I never ran the stock fan (broke it before first flight) so not sure what the power difference will be. But it does work, I just find it's quite under powered (if running stock on 3S).

Klink,
Any 64mm fan, no matter how much you pay for it, will be a dog in the t-45 when paired with a 3 cell lipo. Change out the stock e.s.c. for a 60 amp hk unit, and run a 4 cell 2200 to 3000 4 cell. the change is dramatic.... this t-45 is a great flying plane, but the airframe is too fat and draggy for it to be a 3 cell performer. try a Phase 3 F-16 if your looking for a 3 cell 64mm 30 amp set-up that goes reasonably fast and will slow down for landing...that airframe is slick and better suited to the 64mm fan.....if you were to buy the phase 3 f-16
kit, use your own 2 additional servos, you could use the stock e.s.c. from the t-45 for the F-16. for around $60 you could have both up and flying

What do the amps look like on a 4S system using the stock fan? How about thrust?

I'm getting my T-45 ready for Spring and I need to order an ESC for it. Might as well get a 4S battery while I'm at it... (I was originally planning on using my 450 heli's 3S 2200 mAh batteries.)

Mine draws 67 amps WOT on 4S with the stock fan and motor.

67 Amps!!!!
That is extremely high for any 'stock' system... especially 64mm.
1000w
No cheapie PNFs even give that sort of power ever. More like 400W or so.

Or... I guess it is a 3S stock system, but even then the step up to 4S won't double it. Plus it would fry quick smart at 67Amps.

Are you sure it is 67Amps!?

Thinking about adding some flaps to my T-45. Just curious what the roll rate is for those of you who have already done this.
