Denver Area DLG Flying Sites
Home Field - Scienturfic Sod Farm - 120th & Tower, Commerce City
Camp George - 15098-15144 South Golden Rd Golden Cherryvale Road 39.969474,-105.212878 A hay field part of the year, but good the rest. Some large trees keep things interesting. Easy access from the Louisville/Superior exit off H36. Foothills Community Park 40.053895,-105.289493 Vast lawn. Great soaring unless a west wind creates nasty turbulence. Used for paraglider landing. Buried on the west side of Boulder, so not convenient, but a nice field. Monarch High in Louisville has a three good fields around it. Limited by school activities, of course. Also easy access from 36. Dakota Ridge High School - 13399 West Coal Mine Avenue Littleton. Several soccer fields, often empty, except on weekends. On those occasions when the soccer fields are full, there is a practice football field just north of the school... just watch out for the goal posts. Am I missing any? Let me know, and I'll add them. |

well, that sure sucks, Scott... I hate when work gets in the way of our toys.
![]() Looking forward to seeing you around next season. We'll have the contest schedule figured out sometime in January, so you can get the dates on your calendar early enough that you can make them all. |

I for one am looking forward to extending the flying season a bit, as well as exploring a piece of Arizona. It's always a great time flying with the Morris Bros, not to mention my own brethren here in Colorado. As always, I'm also looking forward to meeting and competing with DLGers from other areas.
Hang in there, Scott. Plenty of fun times ahead. I hope you can work it out, it would be fun to see you there. Team Colorado! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() John |

Thanks for setting up the thread
Dave.
Thanks for starting this. Should be very useful. By the way, your help on my Arrow Pro Legend was right on. I moved the aileron links to the closest hole on the D47s and everything cleared. Got the first flight on it this afternoon with only a 50% launch. Smooth as silk and a 6 minute flight. This plane grooves. You were right about the long, low approaches due to the short flap throw. That's going to take some getting used to. Bob |

Boomer Thermals Today
Flying in the Golden foothills was a kick in the pants today. I finally have two planes that are air worthy at the same time, amazing, and the thermals were risin bigtime today. The Steigeisen is tuned up, and I'm flying it more predictably; now I'm scared that I'm gonna break it! I finally got the LightHawk programmed and flew it a lot this weekend. I admit that I was prejudice before I threw it and wasn't expecting it to perform like the Vandal or Stieg, and I was right..........it doesn't fly, and certainly doesn't launch like the other planes........but I do much better with it in light lift.........I can actually stay in a thermal -------- I like it.
Got the V3 in the mail, but no time now to build at the moment..........besides I need to finish the Vandal repairs first (to include voltage alarm). With luck, I'll have more than a single plane to take to Eloy. I've not yet entered a contest (all 2 of them) with more than a single plane. Ya know, I'm just a rowdy pilot.
