Tom Hunt's Ryan PT-20

Have you seen the stunning photo on the cover of Quiet Flyer of Tom Hunt's Ryan PT-20 "photographed in front of the Statue of Liberty?" I'd love to hear the details from Tom of how this photo was taken -- he must have been flying the plane from a boat, right?

Seriously, is there a write-up about this model somewhere? I'd love to know more about it.

Hi Neil, yes, I'm here... been busy and away.

The PT-20 on the cover was shot by a professional photographer out over the water in front of the statue, hung by a fishing line. I was not there at the time.

The model is from AMD (hong kong I think) available from www.giantscaleplanes.com

Fiberglass fuselage/spats, foam core sheeted wings, balsa tails

I used a Mega 22/30/3 on 16 cells on my H-750 belt drive.
13 x 8 prop as I remember.

I modified the wing to put in more scale like ailerons (used strip ailerons) and scale flaps.

about 7lbs RTF.

There was a mod-build thread out on this forum somewhere, but damn if I can find it.
