Good combo. See if you like 4.1X4.1 with Grpnr spinner.

I don't think the dif is that much but it may be noticeable quieter, just a thought. I think 1110-1y probably is the max you can use without creating problems in the long run. Let's see how long the battery pack will last. I run the 1110-1y on my full carbon Escape with TP 3300-3s 45C, the motor drain the pack rather fast even with 4.1X4.1 prop.
With Sunracer, I run it with 1107/2Y and two packs of TP2250-2S-45C in series and a CC60 ESC. This setup lasted without any issues. Good luck with it. Sunracer still the beauty but get damaged rather easily which is the part I hate the most on such a beauty thing. |

Congrats on your maiden Smarks!
Damn, you have a really beautiful flying site! Where is that? Was that Colorado? No snow yet? We have tons here in Montreal already. How thick if your Hyperion battery? I can only get a 22mm thick batt in my sunracer, because of the torque rods. Though I haven't cut down the kevlar of the nose pod yet. I think I will, so that I can gain an extra millimeter. I was thinking of ordering some Rhino 1850mah which come in at 20mm thick. Cheers! Jabberwocky |

I see you are flying at Chatfield. I have been there lots of times. I had the version 1 Sunracer and loved it. Well, I lost radio on a very high speed pas down the runway. It did a snap straight in from about 3 feet off the ground at full throttle. I would love to get that new one. These things can be hard to land. The first version only allowed for one aileron servo so no flap. That made it really tough to slow down. |

My battery dimensions are: 105x34x27mm, so 27mm thick. I had to cut the bottom of the pod for it to fit. It is very tight and the aileron torque rods still rub a little on the top of the pod, but seem to be working fine. I still use the bottom screw to hold the pod on but also use tape to make sure it holds. There isn't much material left for the screw so I was concerend about it holding. |

Whoa!! That's Quite the surgery Smarks! I might do the same on mine. I really need more room so that I can have more options with Rhino batts. Right now, I've only done a minor cut out on the bottom of the pod, so that I can route the extension to the receiver. But I'm limited in my head room in the pod, as is the Achilles Heal of the Sunracer design. However, I was thinking of orering a Rhino 3S 1850mah 40C that comes in at 20mm thick, which would fit nicely, with not cutting to the pod whatsoever. But I think this pod is just begging for the surgery!!
Here's a vid of my last Sunracer V3 flight in October. Flew 4 nice laps then on the last lap, she suddenly snapped straight down towards the ground and lost half of the altitude. Luckily I regained control. Too bad you can't see it in the video. It happens when I say "Whoaaaa!!!" It happens at 0:54 in the vid. The subsequent rushed landing was looking good but then I caught a wingtip and cartwheeled her. She's ok though. Tough plane to land perfectly in grass. I'll add skids under the wings to counter this problem.
Does anyone havet an idea as to why this sudden snap would have happened? Was that a signal loss? I'm on Spektrum AR500. I've never had a problem with the same rx before. It was in another plane that I had logged at least 50 flights on with same rx. To KRProton: I know you're the Electrifly r&d guy and you love your Rifle, but I can tell you you're gonna LOOOOOVE the Sunracer! Such a fantastic ship! You're a very skilled pilot (I've seen your vids) and you'll definitely appreciate this ship. Just don't turn it hard if you intend on pushing it past 200mph... mmkay! Cheers! Jabberwocky |
