Mine came with 30a esc , 1100kv motors stock.

Its now running 40a esc , 1250kv motors with 8x6 2 blade apc props.

I also use a 3 cell, 2600mah, 55c battery. I can literally take off in about 3 feet of runway.

Finally powered her up yesterday and had a heck of a vibration Took the spinners off and that seemed to fix the problem. Will plan on maidening without them for now if the weather cooperates. I've read about the spinners needing to be balanced, but I have no idea how to check or balance them. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the stock plastic spinners? They are light and in my opinion unlikely cause cause of bad vibrations. They will help increase vibs from the slightly bent shaft or bad bearings in the motor. So, I would check the shafts on both motors and rotate them to see if the bearings are bad or not.

Thanks Capt. Yesterday was the first time the motors were powered up. I would hope that the new motors were true, but I guess anything is possible. Once I removed the spinners, the motors seemed to be smooth. Looked at the props at different angles while they were running and didn't notice and wobble or vibration. Do you know of any good spinners that would mount up to the stock motors?

Just maidened in -4c temperature and 10 to 15mph winds. Very stable and flew beautiful. Gear cycled no problem so not sure what the other guy had issues with at 65f. It does have good stock power. Landings are a breeze to grease in.

The spinners that come with the GC are basically junk. I suppose you could possibly balance them. It's done similar to balancing a prop. Just put it on a prop balancer and lightly spin it and see where it stops. The heavy side will normally be on the bottom when it stops. spin it several times to confirm the heavy side and then start adding weight to the opposite side, a little at a time, until the spinner stops randomly and not at the same spot every time.

Maidened my new Cruiser today and must say -- I am extremely impressed -- what a terrific plane! Everything "stock" for me, right now, with one addition: a Guardian 2D/3D stabilizer. Today was a particularly gusty day, too, so the backup was appreciated. However, experimenting with the Guardian on and off, it was clear the plane didn't need much help.

Thrust-to-weight was almost exactly 1:1... more than enough to twist, spin, and loop to my heart's content. The retractable gear did really well in grass too.

All in all, I had a blast.

Just installed two of these motors with counter rotation. Will be using 2 1600mah 4s batteries parallel and two 65A escs, 8x6 apc props. Should give me about 1000 watts total.
Waiting for the winds to calm down.

So how do they fit? No shimming or anything needed? Gonna be changing mine soon and just curious.

I had to drill new holes in the firewall and shave just a little bit of foam from the engine covers. Otherwise they fit perfectly.

I also load my 2 batteries through the cockpit window and slide them underneath my pilots. I use regular scotch tape as a hinge . Easier than loading from below.

Other mods include additional wing spar, 4 navigation lights, flap speed reducer, bigger wheels

My all up weight is probably about 1700 g vs. 1200g stock.

Read through this thread. On some kits the landing servoless gears act funny at low temperatures. I can't explain why but mine did the same. I just replaced mine with another manufacture and no longer had any problems since. In fact, I had the same issue with the landing gear on my Dynam Turbojet, another fine model by the way.

No harm intended bud. Mine are not having issues so i'm happy. Had 2 more flights after that post and even cycled the gear a couple of times during flight and no issues. Super impressed with this bird. The twin engine addiction has started today.

That's fantastic. So they must have corrected whatever problem they had. Enjoy, it's one of my favorites. Try the Turbojet a well if you like this one!
