Yep. That vid has had 13,000+ views (my most popular flying vid ever)
and the plane isn't even in the frame half the time. It's all about the sound.

This one's not Dsing (is frontsiding at a great DS site tho) but I thought it sounded pretty cool. Filmed with a cheapy point n shoot thing sitting in the grass just below the lip. No fancy mic so you'll need the volume up.
Zipper. Turn it up (3 min 3 sec)

DS sound

We dont have the big DS mountains in Denmark, but a good coast slope with a backside drop can be a nice DS spot, with the most beautiful sound.
Specialy with the Valenta Destiny.
Love it...

Two vids at Kepps from about a month ago. Thanks Joe.

No dead cat, but Joe was down over the ridge, so the air was pretty still. You'll have to turn it up.

Frank Slaughter with his D80. I love the pass at about 51 seconds in.
Frank Slaughter DS D80 Kepps Crossing Sep 1 2010 (8 min 1 sec)

Marty Hill with his Shockwave.
Marty Hill DS 269 mph Shockwave Kepps Crossing Idaho Sep 1 2010 (9 min 59 sec)

These two planes sounded very different on the hill. Don't know if it came out as such in the recordings.

That looks like a FANTASTIC coastal site......all that nice soft grass to land in.....AND it looks like you were getting some decent speed out of it.

Nick's been bugging me to post this and I've been slacking.
It's audio only. It's Nick's TT cruising in the mid 300's on the last WR day
when something surprising happens. Crank up the volume. Especially if you
have a subwoofer.

Thanks for posting the soundtrack Ian.
it's still hard for me to comprehend the amount of force on the controll surfaces it took to rip the output shaft and bearing right through the case of a 7955 TG
I must have pulled 100 G's when I pulled full elevator to save the plane from crashing into the hillside,,Totally amazing that the airframe held together and didn't flick when I pulled full stick @ around 350mph
Jason makes one bad ass machine

Here's a cool video with some different sounds. This 112"NYX weighed about 110oz and was flying in air that, "maybe got to 12mph" but probably dropped below 7 or 8 here and there, with thermals to help and you needed it. This has to be the lightest I've flow and sustained DS at Norco.

NorcoLightC(16mb)
(right mouse click and choose save target as)

Wished for a little X-Max magic to keep the plane in the air and soon it looked like I was going hundreds of miles per hour.
