No the southwest classic will be a regular TD event. It will be a great event for everyone to attend. The raffle is going to be amazing!

Info needed

Hey guys,
I want to be there in 2011. I am thinking of flying in to pheonix.
What time is the contest over sunday? And suggestions for hotels. Would I stay in Pheonix or closer to the site.

Hi Keith,

The event is typically over and done by 1:30pm on Sunday, followed by the awards and raffle. If you wish to find a hotel out there, look in the area of Williams Air Force Base and you will be within 15 minutes drive of the field. I stay with my sister-in-law in Chandler, and that makes it 45 minutes drive.

South West Classic 2011

Hi everyone
Well as you all know I am going to be the CD for the classic even though I will be comming from CALi since I will be moving back to cali in Dec. Well the classic this year will have some good flying and also some extra events. First I will will like to anounce the 2nd F3j in the desert that will be run by Mike Verzuh and Jim Monaco, information about registration about this event will be done by Mike and he should be anouncing soon more about it so keep looking more on this event. It will be the same as last year on thurs and friday.
On the SWC like Joe said it will be a combination of TD and Addem up this is a very fun format and if you never seen it you will like it. Landing will be similar as last year but I am making the landing a little bit more bigger if that is ok with you Mike L. LOL. ( like the picture from plast year.)
Also on Sat will have the usual DLG contest directed by Charlie Morris, and the awesome SLOW STICK COMBAT with anything goes for motor or battery it just has to be a slow stick so Mike L bring it on LOL.
We are adding a new thing to the classic on sat and hoep it will take off like I hope so which is a NIGHT TIme Flying on sat with prize for the best airplane and flying of it. So bring thus DLG, Slow sticks and Night Time airplane and have fun on this years SWC 2011.
The guys from CASL promise to be a great contest and also a great raffle like last year.
Well take care

PS if you have any question please contact me or Joe Wydronek(TDKILER) for any questions.
