Rock-n-Aileron Roll!

I had flown several other UMs before getting the T-28. Since I got it months ago, I've enjoyed it more than any other. I use it to start my flying, to gain confidence. After flying it, I feel I have my eye/hand coordination in check and then I move on to fly a P-51, Su-26xp and others.

That's funny, I felt the same way - like I wanted to go home and get my untested flying wing and toss it up. Luckily the rain came in and stopped me from grenading that wing

Does anyone know if I can bind this to the cheapo radio that came with my champ. I leave this plane in my car and fly it when ever I get a chance. But with it getting so cold out I don't like to leave my dx6i in the car. I can't imagine the condensation from cold to warm is good for the electronics on it

The Champ Tx is Spectrum DSM and should bind with no issues.

I had no trouble binding the T-28 to the DSM2 TX that comes with the Blade MQX quadcopter. Just works.

I successfully modified the bird for an E-Flite 500mah 1S. Just cut the battery channel a little wider (2mm on each side) and made an adapter for the battery connector. It flies forever now. The only drawback is it does not 'float' at idle anymore. Landings require some throttle, or a careful 'plop' as it runs out of lift suddenly. Unplug the adapter and I can go back to using the original batteries.

I use the 250mah and 300mah mCP X batteries which I find absolutely perfect. I never run them to max, but I get 8 minutes easy and an easy landing, too. I think that they ought to just include these batteries as stock.

Agreed, the little ones are too small, and something a littler heavier adds that little bit of heft which helps with the breeze.

LOL!!! Question one, what size of battery was it? How many mah did it have? Question two: Did it help to stop smoking while flying it?

Well...I stopped smoking June the 6th of this year. So, yes to that question. Can't remember the mah on it now because I used several from disposable ciggys. But, it had plenty of strength and weighed just a gram or so more than a hyp or MA. They were round cylinder batts, and I thought they worked awesome. Plus I had them which always is handy. hahahahaha

Taking the fun into the night!

I finally got around to installing the UMx-4 light universal kit from SF Design Solutions. I decided to install it on the T-28 since it's easy to fly yet universal and easiest to see at dusk due to it being white. The install was very easy and didn't throw off my COG. I taped the wires and finished up with paint to hide the wires. The lights are as bright and clearly visible 50-75 yards away.

They're great lights. Is SF Solutions back to selling them, or is that an old set?

I know they are seasonal and I went back on to see if I could purchase the UM Mossie kit but they discontinued making those light sets. I procrastinated and missed the boat on that one.

This is a new set purchased about a month ago. I think they are sticking to 3 standard kits now. Check the sight for info.
