Its not hard to drop the housing in place then sit the brackets in on the rails and tack them on, then remove and glue fully, same with my alloy housing, drop it in and silicon the brackets down in the right spot, let cure then lift it all out to finish off if needed.

I am going to remove 10mm from the front of all the 80mm housings from now on, with the new jetfan rotor having no adapter hub sticking out the back I dont need the extra housing length, will make it easier for installs into the tight area of the Habu.

Do you have CG issues when putting 10S in there?

No. The batteries used are Sky Lipo, 5s, 40c, 4000's. they weigh 2lbs, 4.3 oz for the both of them with 6mm bullets attached.

Compare this to our 8s, Mega/Eflite setup which runs (2 ea) XPS 4s, 65c, 5000's at 2lb 5.7 oz for the both of them with the same connectors.

This additional weight is only 1.4 oz

The batteries are shorter and keep the weight aft. But this is not really a concern either, as the batteries need to placed father forward than "all the way back'.....so, there's room for CG adustment. by just placing the batts according. you could probably run 10s, 5000's for longer flight time, and more speed (less voltage drop)
Anothe reason for ease of CG'ing is that were using a 39mm dia HET 700-68-1680 motor. This adds wieght to aft end of the jet.
36mm Mega and Neu motors are an option, as well.

The jet flies with a 9ch rx (with 2 satallites), a 900mA, 30c rx lipo, a CCBEC, and a CC ICE 120HV

Hi John,
Uuut ooooh, here comes the competition.
Not too heavy, and lotsa watts.

You not gonna make me build a fast one are you? If you play nice, I'll post the Eagle Tree Data from when I bench tested it.
Let me dig it up for ya.

John,

I don't have a proper scale to weight it with. My bathroom scale says about 8 1/2 lbs.

Our 8s Mega motored Habus were about 8lbs on the same scale.
  • The added weight would be 1.4 oz more for the lipos
  • The difference in weight between the E-flite and the Mach fan.
  • The difference in the weight between the 28mm MEGA motor and the 39mm HET 700-68-1680 motor.
Here's the ET data.

So 4200 watts, and 162mph, doesnt that seem like a lot of watts? The wemo based habus seem to all get into the 150's with less than 3000 watts. I am not bashing anything, just curious to know if I am missing something here??
