Maidened mine this weekend. Stock except for an Ice 100 and BEC Pro, came in right at 7lbs.

I was a bit nervous, as I fly off grass, but I am extremely pleased with how the plane behaves. Took probably 150-200 ft to get in the air at half flap, but not an uncomfortably long ground roll. Landings were a piece of cake. Looking forward to getting more stick time on this plane.

Congrats on the maiden! If you are flying off of fixed gear, did you keep the small stock wheels or did you go larger to fly off the grass? Thx. Dana

Flying with the e-flite retracts, and the stock wheels. I was surprised that they rolled as well as they did on the grass. I spent a fair amount of time making sure the wheel bushings were bored properly, and the wheels spun freely.

Yeah, the wheel bushings are tricky to get correct. There's a nice little trick I learned in here.I did'nt use a drill, just sand-paper and the wheels are turned out perfect and rotated with no slop at all...There is a member in RC Universe selling his 8S Habu beacause it will not take-off from his club's grass field..that's the first time I heard of a problem to this nature, anyone else having this problem??If someone needs a 8SHabu..its at RC Universe... Must be really thick grass at that guy's field!

cg

What is the preferred cg for this jet? They seem to have a fairly big window in the instructions. I usually like it towards the front. But each jet is a bit different. Any input welcome. thanks. Stephan

Depends on the battery configuration your running and how they are placed in the Jet...meaning some guys take the wood platform out and use the whole cavity for there batteries(8S)..some guys put one 4S on the floor, attach the wood platform and place another 4S on the wood,so it is tiered....Dont know the weight of your batteries..how you have them set-up,how you want the jet coming in etc.Its has to do with preference aswell so its not as simple as 123..A CG stand is a nice tool to have,I just ordered one..
