Wow....is was so out of balance and hope you guys take time to balancing it well if want to run high power.
I try to balance one and let see what the different it would make.
Nevermind, I found it, the TJ80

There's a video in here on a guy dropping in 8S into a stock-set-up..he fried the motor...I'll get the thread posting and edit it in here..
Let me clarify: The fan can handle 8S, not the stock motor.

Gary, got the struts, thanks for the fast service!

In the retracted position, The cord is under the strut, keeping the door shut. Cord is elastic so it's slightly stretched, keeping the door tightly shut.

I don't think so.... I can hear the fan out of balance and sound very angry.
Only one that know how to balance will do it right.
Most just put it together and fly.

That why PNP unit are for. There is works to assemble and balance the rotor.
It took me 1/2 hour fine tuning on the balancing machine and I balance both plane for precission balance.
Static balance only can get to run O.K. That why I bought the dyanamic balancer for if in the business making fan and it the most valuable tool to have.

BTW,
Just ran it up and smooth as silk. As not noisy as before.

Maybe I mis understood but a lot of guys post "read the manual" type comments and I hate that, why even waste the time posting something like that, if you are going to pose maybe point people to the correct posts.

Do you have any links to relevant posts? That would help alot.

Sorry if it seems like I was attacking!

BTW guys I got the mn48s, after reading about them:

Hmm, should I get different servos?

Good question and had answer before.
My hour rate are $85 an hour during business hour.
Off peak hour $65.
So you get the figure what it cost to balance the rotor.

The motor not be a week or two.
Test motor we goes through good trial test before production was made.
Yes the design of the motor to be run from 8s-10s.
Depend how customers want to use the power.
8s around 2.2kw for light weight set up.
9s around 2.7kw is where we had been doing.
10s is for hot rod for speed freak.

The ICE HV120 custom made heat sink from us to kept the ESC cool and light.

TJ80SE is really special. A lot custom works to kept it light and right KV motor to be works in many different application.
Whom know what the future hold.
80mm size jets might be the ticket and I had the power plant can push to the limit.[/QUOTE]

Tam - any idea what the amps would be on the 8s setup with the se fan? I love my stock setup because I can get an easy 5 minutes of flight.

Here is the 9s set up I flew few days ago.
9s 3600mAh 3kw at 95A
With the special motor for TJ80SE.
8s should be 2.4kw around 70A-73A range.

Just imagine light weight 8s 3600mAh at 2.4kw will do. The flight time as good as this video or better.
This video pretty much easy on the throttle most of the flight and got over 6 minutes.

The other video pretty much mostly flying with more throttle and still do 4:30 average with a lot high speed run.
Habu 32 Tamjets TJ80SE (7 min 11 sec)

Been reading in this thread, the size comparison between the foamy and the 32 got me down a bit, but I have a fly fly mig29 anf the 32 isnt much smaller at all.

Atually, the 32 isnt small, the foamy is huge! I think I will have to pick one up but for a 70 mm sized edf it will be slow, the airframe is too big.

Odd as well, the stabs are in diffrent spots...
