Saturday is Karens Biirthday, Sunday is fathers day. So this weekend is ify. I might sneak up to Canyon Crosswinds for a short while.

I better get out soon cause one of the rarcels of motors from MEGA has cleared customs in New York, and will be here in a few days. A second larger parcel with motors is in transit from Cz.

Many of these will need shaft mods, and/or complete fan balance/assy.

Either the Dubro, or the magentic type will work fine.
Add some "earthquake hold" putty, to the "light" side. (outside the hub)
Keep adding putty until the rotor stays wherever you position it radially.
Then move the putty to the inside and lightly cover it with 5 min epoxy.

I've been using a 2s, 850mAh lipo that plugs into a Castle BEC, then into the batt port of the rx, in a number of 70-90mm EDFs. With up to 8 servos (2 of them digital).
I've never looked at what I put back into them, but generlly make 2, (4-5 min) flights, before recharging.

I hope one of mine is in there!

Hey,

Nice little trick. So what keeps the door open and away from the strut in the down position?

I used lengths of drilled tie wraps as "straps" for the mains, instead of the wood blocks supplied with the kit.

Just the contrary. The contact of the door to fuse at the hinge point holds the door against the wire strut when open, and the door slides on the strut as it opens and closes.

It just worked out that it works very smoothly (every time)
On other jets I've had to add a "glide bump" to the inside of the door to prevent hang ups....but not this one.

Using Tams's struts may need the "glide". I'll put them on the next Habu.

Looking back at the pic previously posted, the little cord gets pulled by the strut when the gear goes up and that closes the door ? So when up, the cord doesn't pull on the door, it appears loose ?

Same thing with the stab. My left one didnīt sit tight to the fuse. Had to sand away some color and spackle from the fuse. At stabs leading edge the fuse is to weak with flex as a result.

Is this anything to worry about. My easy fix will be to tape the wings to the fuse.

Sincerely
Marcus

mine were that way too the stab more so than the main wing.
I just used some rtv silicone in between the wings and stab and fuse then bolted them on let it dry. They are rock solid now

Also I just maiden mine tonight and WOW am i impressed she flys great.very fast for a stock setup also.
However I did not extend the canopy bolt as suggested and it flew of just 60sec into the flight

so here is my fix and a pic of my habu after i removed the stickers and tinted the canopy

Just let you guys know.
I ran up the E-Flite fan for the customer. It was horrible sound and vibration.
So put the E-Flite rotor on my dynamic balance machine to find out how far off it is out of balance.
Wow....is was so out of balance and hope you guys take time to balancing it well if want to run high power.
I try to balance one and let see what the different it would make.
