Sometimes the gear can over flex and break the stop switch. Then the gear doesn't know when to stop and lock. I use to get parts from PW-RC but they are changing and not sure if parts are sold anymore.

I asked Tam via email what I should do about the gear slop, His response was:
"Put aluminum tape to the surface of the trunion where touch the retract. That will fill up the gap to stop the slop " And let me say he was right. That gear is so tight now without any signs of slop. |

Those look nice. I just got to the party with a used stock 32. I have 8 flights so far and all have been wonderful.

Did you put the aluminum tape on the part of trunion that is visibile when the gear is retracted? This way when it extends it would fill the gap? I'm trying to visualize the placement of the tape. Thanks... |

That is exactly what I did.

Another fix for metal trunion retracts is to dismantle the retract and place the trunion in a bench vice and carefully swedge the gap closer again. If you go a little too far, use a drill bit slightly oversize and knock it in edge ways. The slight natural memory in the metal will close it up a touch, that's why one size over works well.
I have restored several metal trunion retracts this way, good as new. It seems to be mostly retracts for large scale models that restore best. Smaller retracts usually have thread strip in the slide bar and that's a fix I haven't sorted out yet. |

With a jet fan 12s setup would a 120amp esc be enough or do you need to go to a 160amp?

The 1500 kv motor is listed, but I don't recommend it for 12s. The normal current limiting setting for the Castle Edge 120HV is 180A. The 160 HV will run cooler and more efficient, but it's very large. |

What setup would I need to get 200mph?
I have an 8s setup that I bought a couple of years ago that i got the motor from you guys and it sustains 150mph maybe 160 (using gps speed off a sensor) I just snagged a rtf stock setup yellow 32x at a swap meet and was thinking of going bigger with this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
