Help!

I need some New stuff

Whats the best brand, type and mil. for alot of my planes I think 5 mil might be sufficient but 10 mil might be really good for DS, PSS and electric wings, how about some recomendations.

I've got CP 5mil from laminatorwharehouse.com. They sell it by the roll I know it's a lot of covering but hey I got the 12"x200' roll for 16.50 that's about .08 cents a foot when you do the math!!!!

Also, I've always covered in layers starting with the bottom, then the top, then the bottom, etc.... My Supermonarch has 3 layers on the bottom and 2 on top super rigid and stiff! However the biggest disadvantages of NS is that it's kinda heavy, and it doesnt like curves so make sure when do a fuse you do it in sections.

I sell by the foot in 3, 5, 10 mil and 12, 18 and 27 inch wide sizes.

Try before you buy hundreds of feet!

I dont care for the 5 mil so I'd say get the 10 mil. there is two types; CP and DI. CP is more flexible, DI is "harder" Neither shrink much.

If you decide to buy rolls I'd be interested in getting some 10 mil in either CI or DI in 27 inch rolls. Note DI is more expensive than CP, I think almost twice the cost.

Look for posts from Ian on NS

I'm currently using the CP 5mil, which is the same stuff available from the Canuck. It's all the way at the bottom after you click on the "Premium Gloss" button.

Oregon Laminations seems to have good prices, with the shipping cost less too.

Disclaimer:
1) I have never used NS yet.
2) I have never dealt with Oregon Laminations

I'm going to try out some 10mil soon on the EPP foam I just bought.

There's dozens (maybe hundreds) of different types of laminating films and only
a small number of them are really good for our purposes. "New Stuff" was really
just the end result of research into which varieties are proven to work the best.
The differences tend to revolve around strength/flexibility/tear resistance/total thickness/glue layer thickness/quality of adhesive/etc..

I have gotten the 5 and 10 mil stuff from andrew and they both rock! plus nice to buy just what you need in any width and experiment with them.

What's the optimal application temperature? Is there a higher 'best shrink' temp as well??? I'm about to fool around with some.

What I like about 5mil is you can always double or triple in specific areas of impact. You can definitely make this stuff go around curves like leading edges, tips and even fuselages.

yeah but for curves, you'll need multiple pieces if you don't want a wrinky fuse...
