She was really locked in, but it did help that we only had a couple of mph wind.
That's my standard equipment MXS that uses HS65MG/85MG servos and the Torque Airboss 45 ESC. Just the killer power system and off the shelf 6 bolt servos. This is how we were flying this plane eight years ago and it's still a formidable machine. Because we have had so many new planes this year I have not gotten to fly this one as much as I would like, but I always love it when I do. |

I had a fellow RCG member stop bye the house last night to pick up a plane I was giving away , he saw my 48"MXS sitting in the shop and his first reaction was ,,, " nice MXS , I hear those are harder to fly than the other 48" Extreme flight planes "
The MXS does NOT have a bad attitude . Dialed down it is a sweet flying sport plane with a touch of pattern plane thing going on . Crank it up and yes , it is IMHO the most radical of the 48" EXP airframes BUT still no bad habits . if anyone already has any of the other 48s and is looking for another ,,this would be an excellent choice that will open up some new doors for mind bending 3D maneuvers that are yet to be discovered ..BUT it will chill if your in a less aggressive long line or sport kind of mood . I will have the MXS in my quiver as long as it is offered by Extreme flight ! |

Gotta agree with Blaze won, that was a good flight. Love the super low stuff, such as 1:05-1:10 and again at 1:54 area. The wing touch at 2:39 was cool too and sounds like a good bit of wind too.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
It was a stupid day to go fly because the wind was so ridiculous. Still, I had a friend in from out of town and wanted to take advantage of that and burn a few packs with him. I left any music out of this because I would have to turn it up so loud to cover the wind you would not hear the motor. You can really hear how brutal the conditions were. You can see that early in the flight the wind blew my hat off, so we were not just playing. That and it was cold, and I was smartassed enough to wear shorts. Brrrrrr. Early in the flight I misjudged a snap landing and tore a wheel off, but I was quick enough on the power that she jumped right back up before the broken gear leg had a chance to dig in. May as well keep going, right? This plane is three years old and its a miracle I still have it at all, so a broken gear leg is nothing and I usually have a spare in the trunk.

No need to stop flying because you knock a wheel off. I would had kept flying it too if I had pull off what you did. What prop are you using with your 48" now ? |
