Be careful not to draw too many amps on the motor though, haha! But yep, great ESC choice Make sure to set fast throttle response, really perks the plane up in my opinion

Guys,

I seem to be getting a quite a bit of blowback (I think it's that). When I'm at max throttle, the roll rate is a lot slower than if at medium speed. I'm using the inbuilt BEC on the ICE Lite 50 and running it 6V. Should I increase the voltage? Or should I get an external BEC?

Thanks!

I'm using digital at the moment, haha! They are the 5065 on ailerons + rudder and 5085 on elevator

Hmmm, Motrolfly makes a good ESC and I use them in almost all of my EXPs. You just pull a tab and it runs 6 volts to your servos. I'd check to see if you are actually getting 6 volts to your servos because normally you don't get blowback with those servos.

Is it blow back or too much throw at too fast a speed? 45 degrees of throw at high speed can induce a lot of drag.

Well it maybe that but the roll slows down quite a bit so I don't think it's all that, haha!

I've set the inbuilt BEC to 6V so hopefully I'm getting that, LOL! Would those servos take a higher voltage?

Eh, I wouldn't chance it... motors and ESCs aren't the only things that make magic smoke.

To test for blowback a good way is to nail full aileron while going slow, then punch full throttle and increase your speed and see if the rollrate increases or decreases. It should increase. If it decreases, it's blowback. But is sounds like you already have a handle on that. How old are those servos?

Servos are brand new

I've tried this and something really weird happens... When I'm going at max throttle them apply full aileron, the roll rate is poor. But if I apply full aileron whilst going slow them speed up, it's fine, really strange, haha!

LOL, that magic smoke is funny! It's like a little poof sound then some black dust flys around, hahaha!
