Frankie,
try Beacon Foam-Tac glue for repairs on foam instead of foam safe c/a... it cures flexible, not hard like c/a... |

I always use Epoxy.... but interesting about 'rigid' versus 'flexible'.....
Most cases Rigid is fine, because it is all meant to stay totally intact, LOL. Rigid versus Flexible comes more into play at crashes..... Pretty well nothing Flexible remains a 100% solid joint (eg a wing joint will flex - not wanted... and can bit by bit ease out etc) - but as long as the stress level never exceeds its holding level, then it is fine in many areas. For a fuselage repair I would use Epoxy, with 'cross joint' bracing (often wooden skewers), so that it resumes being a solid in-flexible material/surface. CA has a problem in that it is not only Rigid but it is BRITTLE. So it has a pretty low shock/shear strength. So at stress level X it just goes 'snap' and gone... Epoxy is something like 3X of CA, so its break level is never reached unless in quite a severe crash situation. And more often than not it will break off with foam attached, because a thin layer of foam at the joint is what actually tore off. 2 part (as per Epoxy) also is easier to use, and has a known assured set period.... CA is a bit flakey on all of it 'drying', even if you use kicker (seeing it can't get right into it all usually). So all in all I don't like CA for much at all. Maybe canopy gluing.... and just some certain situations it is actually well suited to (glue a pilot in?), but that is not many - non-critical things. |

Honestly - the Habu is a dandy plane......it is also 2X the price of a Meteor, in any form. Being a cheapskate, I look fondly on a nearly-identical airframe, that performs in near-identical manner, for half the cost. Simple cheapo economics .

Oh!!! Ok i would have thought that if you own an AC cobra the price of a Habu would be loose change in your pocket LOL

I understand you have a 6S setup, correct? Can you please share which fan, motor (kv wise) and battery you are using to reach this kind of speed? Thanks! |
