Dynam Meteor
Just saw this new product, the Dynam Meteor. It looks an awfully lot like something that starts with an H and ends with a U. Very interesting...
Anyway, it looks like Nitroplanes will be carrying it. This was their sample. |

I am guessing it will cost $200 or under RTF. It probably won't be Z-foam. Probably just EPO. Dynam makes a pretty good product. I have their RTF Sonic 185 motor glider that I bought this spring and it has probably over 20 hours of flight time on it from flying it all summer. Everything is stock and nothing has failed yet. Will be interesting to see how this new model plays out.

To be honest, i don't think that the Habu is actually that popular. For 400 bucks, that would definitely throw it off my wish list. Let's put that in perspective a bit. For a budget within 50 bucks of the total, shipped cost of the habu, I can get a jet (from bananahobby, unfortunately) with twin 70mm edfs, flaps, slats, and a whole list of functions that i won't ever necessarily need, or build a composite, high grade model of a slightly larger size. A comparable model, sans the z-foam (which is still pretty vulnerable at the habu's high airspeed) at less than half the bnf price? for an RTF? There will probably be some popularity, considering that the price is cheap enough to compare with jets of it's size and type.

Some will buy it as a cheaper alternative to the Habu. The Habu isn't as popular as some of the super fancy LX models that have been coming out lately but, it does sell. I know 4 guys with them and they love it. Yeah you can get a twin Fulcrum with all the crazy stuff for almost the same price. The difference is if the Habu crashes due to a defect HH will do their best to make it right in my experience, other places will do their best to sell you replacement parts or not answer phones or emails.
1000th post....It's about time I made it to 1000. |

Has anyone flown it yet? I'm very tempted to get this one come income tax time.
