Hi Chris, pleased to see you are now including gyro speeds with the (gyro) tag
Or is it selective?
Keep up the good work!

Many gyro speeds are unaccounted for, including the top D60 gyro speed of 279 from
the same day I set my Wizard PB (which was recorded). I thought the whole point of
specifying gyro or no-gyro was so we could actually keep track of them, but it seems to
just cause those speeds to never get recorded at all on rcspeeds.com which is too bad.

Guess Chris has plenty enough on his plate without a whack of extra entries in rcspeeds.

Apart from an apparent objection in principle to posting gyro-assisted speeds.

Though personally I'd find it very interesting to have gyro & non gyro entries, in particular where they relate to the same plane type.

It's a lot if work to filter out gyro speeds. Pretty much every report would have to b changed. A big effort I don't have time for right now.

Sorry guys. I have no objections to posting them just listing them in the same reports that have unassisted steering or control systems helping the pilot steer the plane. I know some of u don't think gyros steer the plane but when a system takes input, makes a decision and moves the control surface IMO it put plane back on course by steering it... If someone else doesn't make a gyro list I will but its gona b a while.

I'll also add, the gyros definitely make it much easier for some pilots to go a lot faster and I think they're a good thing! But different...

Ill delete those speeds next update. I left them in there because they were recorded so long ago and I didn't want to remove them.

iPhone post plse excuse...

Well, by actively discriminating against gyro speeds on rcspeeds by totally excluding them,
you'll eventually encourage people to just not say anything when they're used,
which I don't think was the original intent. I agree that gyros help in certain
circumstances, just as does borrowing a someone else's perfectly sorted plane
that's already up in good air, with no pressure to launch or land, to set a PB, which is ok, but noted.
I still don't see why we all can't just decide for ourselves whether we care that a plane has a gyro
in use or not, and list the speeds alongside every other plane in their respective lists. If really you
don't want them stepping on non-gyro speeds for a specific plane, then separate them the way you
did with the "D60 (gyro)" list mentioned above, by creating a new plane type when they're used on a
given aircraft. It just really bothers me that we've got dozens upon dozens of reported speeds that have
just disappeared completely. Sends a pretty clear "you're not wanted here" message.

BTW, in old days it would have been quite easy to go through this thread and find all the
gyro speeds because we only used the word "gyro" when they were actually used. Now every report
has keyword gyro in it, so have to read every individual report on 1700+ posts to pick out which
have "gyro yes" "gyro no", "no gyro used", "gyro: GYA351" etc..

So here's what I've done. I saved off the whole thread 100 posts at a time into 18 pages
and searched through them all for various keywords to try to locate the gyro/DCS speed reports.
Attached is a zip containing the full thread plus a file containing a list of all the gyro/DSC
reports I found. I think it does not include some of the older reports which only exist on rcspeeds.
If you've posted a gyro speed please validate that it's in the list, or just want to add some new ones,
update the gyrospeeds.txt file and send it to me and I'll see about reformatting into something easier to read.
I know there's a bunch that haven't been posted by the big dogs because I see em mentioned in the
other threads but not here. Would love to add em to the list for reference.
