Build, crash...repeat

I suspect it was just bad luck launching. I've had that happen quite a few times and had to figure out how to hand launch it. I rev up the motor to half throttle or so, and then try to launch it slightly upward, making sure it's not banked to one side, using a gentle push; not too much. Also check your control surfaces again to make sure they're moving correctly and make sure the CG is right. I bet it'll fly when you try again!

Thanks AleRRon for support ! I dont know if the maiden launch could be seen on the link attached by me. I was on rc and one guy throw it . I was on 60% gas, ready to compensate but it nosed down in an instant.... Cg was right but the guy throwned it weirdly....like he did not let go at the top of the arc and kinda late....resulting in a crash....It broke in half. Now I ve glued 4 spruce spars, 2 on thr upper deck and 2 on the lower deck along thr nose....Maybe the 3s2200mah lipo is too heavy and needs more power to launch...I ve added down thrust to the motor, upped the elevon reflex to 10mm.....I wil try again if the rain lets me... Cheers

Serjuro, also hold the plane vertical "safely" and see if you are getting enough pull at 60 to 70 percent throttle. If the battery is too heavy then the plane will be wanting to drop to the ground instead of pushing gently upwards. You don't need to be vertically taking off but it shouldn't drop like a rock either. The biggest problem is you say the cg is correct, so I'm assuming you need all that weight up front to balance it. So the only solution may be a more powerful motor.

Exactly, I had to push the lipo into the canard spar....Maybe i ll buy a 2400kv motor with a 3s1600mah lipo...Thanks

Beautiful PJ. Love the color scheme
That prop sounds like it's very unbalanced or was on backwards.....
You've probably already fix it...
Flew great, balanced perfectly.

I've gone 117 mph with mine with a Propdrive 28-36 3000Kv with a 4.75 X 4.75 APC modulated by a Turnigy AE-65 esc with a 2200 mAh 4s battery. That's the 32" version.

It looks like Hobbyking discontinued that motor.

Does anyone have any other recommended motors for a 3-4S setup?

Alot of the motor recommendations I see on here are for 3S max.

Or is using a 3S motor on 4S not a big deal.

These look great but I have no personal experience of them but have seen siblings of these motors used at my club.

https://uk-m.banggood.com/T-motor-F6...ottom-alsolike

But I have tried these (also in green) and for the money a really potent motor on 3S or 4S.

Certainly the sort of thing I would put on a PJ when I get around to building one.

Hi

Hi Gorazd

I loved your version of the PRIME JET8 mini funjet clone! Which plan did you follow from the PDFs lised on the first page of this build log?

I look forwarf to hearing from you.

Hello Jay,

Sorry I'm late to the party here... I've heard good things about the GepRC GR2306 2750KV motor on 4S. They are about $20 if you can handle waiting for the shipping from China. Once in a while I see them on eBay from a US seller for a bit more $$.

Check out E3Scott's series of videos on this motor.

T-Motor T5150x3 prop GepRC GR2306 2750 kv motor on 4S (5 min 54 sec)

Here is a playlist of all his videos on the GepRC GR2306 2750KV:

I think this motor might be a good fit for Ken's scaled up 32" model:
